The Power of Unity... psalm 133

What does the word Unity mean...Well, #1 it means oneness, Perfect harmony, All in one agreement,

Ps 133...-3

Eph 4:3...Endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of Peace.

Eph 4:13. Till we all come in the unity of the Faithand of the knowledge of the son of God unto a prefect man unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

1 cor.1:10.... Now I beseech you brethren by the name of our lord Jesus Christ that we all speak the same thing and that there be no division among you but you be perfectly join together in the same mind and in the same judgement.

2 cor.13:11...Finally brethren farewell be prefect, be of good confort be of one mind live in peaceand the God of love and peace shall be with you.

1 peter. 3:8.... Finally be ya all of one mind having compassion one of another love as brethren be pitiful and be courteous.

Amos 3:5... How can two walk together unless they agree?

IT SEEMS THAT GOD PLACES THE HIGHEST VALUE ON THIS THING CALLED UNITY.

There is complete unity in the Godhead, The Father, the son, and the holy goust.

When the people of God come together in unity it’s a beautiful and powerful thing.

Now what do I mean by that there is power in unity?

Let’s consider some facts

#1 consider the power in a team of horses pulling a plow.

#2 consider the power in a Train being pulled by 3 engines

#3 consider the power of Prayer when 2 or more agree.

#4 consider the power that’s in love when Family member’s come together and help each other in time of need or destruction.

#5 consider the power that’s in strength to a family who’s Focus is on God.

#6 consider the power that’s in soul winning when all is focus on it.

WHAT AM I SAYING?

THERE IS POWER IN UNITY.

Whether it is for good or bad.

Consider those same team horses one going one way and the other trying to go the other way.

Consider a husband and wife, both with a good ideal about something. But one wants it this way while the other wants it another way.

AGAIN ...AMOS.3: 3 HAVE A QUESTION CAN TWO WALK TOGETHER EXCEPT THEY ARE AGREED.

LET’S LOOK AT PS. 133 A LITTLE CLOSER.

LET’S DO A QUICK WORD STUDY.

Focus on the word Together in the Hebrew it is { yachdaw} ...and it means ......all alike, equally, all at once. All together. --------- It apper’s about 92 times in the Old Testament ... And this is what it inplys ...A COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE IN ACTION...

SAY IT WITH ME...THERE IS POWER IN UNITY.

Look AT THE WORD OINTMEANT

IN THE HERBREW. IS SEMEN...AND IT MEAN’S FAT, OIL,IT has a very wide Range of Meaning’s . It implies a picture of RICHNESS, AND STRENGH, AND BEING FERTILE.

NOW, SOME ONE ASK THE QUESTION ...WHERE’S THE APPLACTION FOR ME IN THIS MESSAGE?

I BELEIVE GOD IS WANTING US AT TROUTMAN TO COME TOGETHERIN UNITY...

Some one could stand up and say this...We are in unity at this church. ...THEN WHY DID GOD LAY THIS MESSAGE ON MY HEART?

IN ACT’S 2 WHEN ALL WAS IN ONE ACCORD THE WIND BLEW ...AND YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY.

God has a plan for this church, and I believe he is trying to put it together.

THERE IS 4 AREAS THAT THE LORD SHARED WITH ME IN THIS MESSAGE CONCERNING THIS CHURCH AND UNITY.

SAY IT WITH ME ...THERE IS POWER IN UNITY.

#1 IN OUR FELLOWSHIP WITH EACH OTHER.

There are some here that need’s to make mends’ with other’s some one need’s to forgive someone and re kindle the fellowship that once was.

#2 GOD SEE’S THAT THERE IS A NEED FOR UNITY IN RATIONSHIP WITH SPOUSE’S.

An old time "preacher" said it this way... That if every married couple would strife to please each other more than they’re self... There would NEVER be anoth argument.

#3 UNITY IN OUR HOMES AS A FAMILY.

I believe we all could work on this one.

#4 WE NEED UNITY IN THIS CHURCH IN THE WAY OF OUR GIVING.

SOME ONE IS ABOUT TO SAY; YOU ARE GOING OVER YOUR BOUNDERS NOW. BUT I HAVE GOT TO SHARE WHAT THE LORD HAS TOLD ME TOO.

#1 there are some here that never give a tithe to God.

#2 there are some here that Tithe ever now and again. And you really think you are being pleasing to god.

#3 there are some here that tithe faithfully, but only give an offer every now and again, and you think that’s pleasing too the lord.
