Summary: There is great power in the Word of God! Many have not tapped into it!

(R.A. Torrey’s “Power-filled Living” book was used to help research this message.)

Psalm 62:11: God hath spoken once; Twice have I heard this; That power belongeth unto God.

- Jesus gives a parable in Luke 8 and calls the Word of God “the seed.”

- Seed is powerful.

Jeremiah 23:29: Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

- We must feed upon His Word if we are to obtain His power in our lives.

- As we eat physically, we must also spiritually eat.

WHAT THE WORD OF GOD HAS THE POWER TO DO

1. Convict of sin

Acts 2:37: Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

2. Regenerate/ Bring Back to Life

1 Peter 1:23: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

James 1:18: Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

3. Produces Faith

Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

FAITH MUST HAVE A FOUNDATION

Saving Faith

Acts 16:30–34: And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. 34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Verse 31—> John 6:47: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Prevailing Faith in Prayer

1 John 5:14–15: And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

How do we know His will? THROUGH HIS WORD

Victorious Faith

1 John 5:4–5: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
