The Power Of The Gospel
Contributed by Shashi Marian on Mar 6, 2026 (message contributor)
Summary: "The Gospel is the Power of God unto salvation to him who believes" as stated in Romans 1:16. It is mentioned as the Power of God. There is no other power in the whole of the world that could stand before God. Every knee has to bow and every tongue has to confess that Jesus is the Lord.
1 Corinthians 12 speaks about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. in Chapter 13 Paul the Apostle talks about love. In 1 Corinthians 14 we see the deliberation and emphasis of the gifts of the Spirit. In Chapter 15 Paul the Apostle speaks about the Gospel. There are 4 things that could be derviced from this particluar Scripture.
1. The Gospel that was preached
Paul the Apostle boldly declares that he preached the Gospel. The Gospel is indeed the Power of God. The message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but the power of God to them that believe. When the Gospel is preached it will and has to impact the hearer. There is power in His Word. The Gospel is the foundation of salvation. The Gospel is all about the Lord Jesus Christ. It demonstrates the birth, life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Which you have received
When we receive the Word it works. Unless the Word penetrates we cannot see results. It is very important for us to receive the Word in order to see the Work of God. Many a times we dont see the Promises of God coming to fulfillment because it is not received. We need to receive by faith. Receiving should come from a willing heart. If one is not ready then nothing can be expected. Faith and Word can accomplish great things in our lives.
3. In which you stand
Our stand in God is very important. We need to stand on His Word. there is an old song that comes to my mind which says " Standing on the Promises of God my King....." If we know the power of God and His Word we shall definitely see His Word at work in our lives. There is also another song that says " On Christ the solid Rock I stand..." His Word is Immovable. When we stand on His Word He will never fail us. The Gospel is the foundation or I rather call the basis of every believer. We need to stand out Ground and never fumble.
4. By which you are saved
Acts 4:12 says that there is none by whom we can be saved except by the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is found in none except the Lord Jesus Christ. Being born in a Christian family does not necessarily make us Christians. We need have a personal encounter with Him. He needs to be accepted and received so that we could be saved. It is the Lord Jesus Christ alone who can save us from our sins. He paid it all on the Cross. He forgave our sins. He healed our sickness and He gave us Eternal Life.
Let the Gospel take root in our lives and we need to have a personal encounter with Him. Let us allow Him to encounter us so that we see Him in our lives.
God bless you abundantly !!!
