THE POWER OF LIFE IN ABUNDANCE

written by Senior Pastor Ndayiragije Misigaro Joel, June 14, 2023

"The thief does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10:10

INTRODUCTION

Humans are unable to fully comprehend or control the power of life. It is the driving energy behind all living beings and the natural world, constantly evolving and adapting to new challenges and environments. Despite our limited understanding, we continue to study and explore the mysteries of life to better appreciate its complexity and beauty.

Life in abundance is a state of being where one feels fulfilled and content with their existence. It involves having meaningful relationships, a sense of purpose, good health, and financial stability. It can also mean being joyful, appreciative, and deeply appreciative of the beauty of our surroundings.

Who is the thief? It is anyone or anything that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy. (Satan and his emissaries are part of this category.)

Satan can also steal your peace of mind and sense of purpose, leaving you feeling lost and empty. It is important to remember that the thief's goal is to separate us from God, and we must stay rooted in our faith to prevent this from happening.

The thief can also harm our relationships by stoking animosity between family members. To recognize the thief's strategies in our lives, it is crucial to pray for protection and discernment.

The thief can also use the spirit of fear to rob us of our peace and joy, causing us to doubt God's goodness and faithfulness. However, if we stay rooted in Christ and his word, we can resist the enemy's schemes and experience the abundant life that Jesus promised. On the other hand, Jesus claims that he has come to offer abundant life to those who follow him.

Many spiritual and religious traditions have studied the power of life in abundance. It refers to the idea that life is about survival and thriving and experiencing joy, love, and fulfillment. This power can be accessed through practices such as meditation, prayer, and gratitude, as well as through cultivating positive relationships and engaging in meaningful work. Ultimately, embracing the power of life in abundance can lead to a more vibrant and fulfilling existence.

1. WHAT THE THIEF COMES TO STEAL

The enemy here is Satan and his emissaries, or those that work for him; this includes physical theft, emotional manipulation, or spiritual deception. However, Jesus offers a different way of life—one that is abundant and full of purpose. Through Him, we can experience true joy and fulfillment.

The implication is that the thief, who is the enemy, is very dangerous in such a way that physically when he steals, he sends sickness and illness into your body so that you will be weakened and unable to resist him. However, the thief can also steal our joy and fulfillment by tempting us with worldly pleasures and distracting us from our faith. Therefore, we must remain vigilant and rely on Jesus to protect us from the thief's attacks.

The enemy can, for instance, steal your wealth and money using the spirit of Mammon. As Scripture says, you cannot serve God and serve Mammon.

However, spiritually, he steals your peace, joy, and purpose in life by leading you away from God's plan for you. It is important to stay vigilant and rely on God's strength to overcome the thief's tactics.

Matthew 6:24. "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

Therefore, it is important to prioritize our faith and trust in God over material possessions. By doing so, we can protect ourselves from falling into the trap of the thief's schemes and maintain a strong spiritual foundation. By doing so, we can resist the temptation to steal and live a life of integrity and honesty.

When this spirit is at work, sometimes you work and your money cannot be saved because of unforeseen circumstances such as medical emergencies, natural disasters, or unexpected expenses. However, it is important to continue practicing good financial habits and seeking guidance on how to manage money wisely. In this spirit of Mammon, when at work, all the above-named circumstances become the stumbling blocks in your path.

However, by continuing to prioritize our spiritual growth and values, we can find peace and contentment even in difficult financial situations.

The spirit of Mammon refers to the excessive love of money and material possessions, which can lead to poor financial decisions and greed. It is important to prioritize financial responsibility and avoid letting the spirit of Mammon take control.
