One of the most important things is to receive the word of God, let's go receive it at the potter's house.
In this sermon, we will explore the profound message found in Jeremiah 18:1-6. It emphasizes the importance of receiving God's word and the need to go to the Potter's house to do so. We will focus on a specific aspect of this passage, which we will call "The Clay, the Wheel, and the Potter."
1) The Wheel: Symbolizes the circumstances and adversities we face in life.
2) The Clay: Represents us as human beings, over whom God has complete sovereignty.
3) The Potter: Represents God, our Creator, who has the authority to shape us according to His will.
Life presents us with challenging circumstances and hardships. These difficulties serve as God's way of drawing us closer to Him. If we resist and complain, we hinder the work of the Potter. However, if we accept His molding, the pressure will be relieved, problems will be resolved, and we will be shaped according to His plan.
We are like clay in the hands of the Potter. He has the power to transform us into something precious for His honor and glory. Even when things go wrong during the shaping process, God has the ability to correct and remold us. He never gives up on us, even when we seem unmanageable.
God is our Creator and has complete authority over us. In Romans 9:20, it says, "But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?'" When something goes wrong in our lives, we need to surrender ourselves to God's hands so that He can make us new. We must trust that He knows what is best for us.
Just as Job acknowledged God's sovereignty and wisdom, we too must recognize that God is in control. We need to submit ourselves to Him, allowing Him to shape us according to His plan. Like clay on the Potter's wheel, we may have been marred, but God can make us new again. Let us have faith in His ability to transform our lives and trust that His ways are perfect.
Remember the story of Jesus healing the blind man in John 9:6. He used saliva and dust to restore the man's sight. This demonstrates that God can work miracles even with the simplest elements.
