Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Explore the person and power of Jesus in the context of the Kingdom of God, and how we can live in this Kingdom with Jesus as our guide, focusing on righteousness, peace, and joy rather than worldly concerns.
Good morning, church family! Today, we will be diving into a profound and empowering message from the book of Romans. Specifically, we're going to unpack Romans 14:17-20 and explore three themes: Jesus: His Person and the Kingdom Style of a Woman, The Power of Jesus' Person in the Kingdom, and Living in the Kingdom with Jesus as Our Person.
But before we do that, let's remind ourselves of the words of the renowned theologian A.W. Tozer, who once said, "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." This quote is so relevant to our study today as we seek to understand more about Jesus, His power, and His Kingdom.
Let's read together Romans 14:17-20: "For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense."
