God, in His perfect timing, sent His greatest gift to mankind. He always does everything at the right time.
Did you know that many people are unaware of the true origins of Christmas? It is important to remember that Christmas is about the birth of Christ, even though we often get caught up in the shopping, gift-giving, and family gatherings. Today, let's take a moment to reflect on what Christmas truly represents.
In Galatians 4:4-7, we learn about the significance of Christ's coming to earth. Firstly, Jesus had a divine origin. He existed with God the Father before being sent to earth. Jesus willingly chose to be sent and took on human form, being born of a woman. He also subjected himself to God's law, fulfilling it perfectly.
Galatians 4:5 tells us that Jesus came to redeem those who were under the law. This includes both the Jewish people, who were given the law directly, and all humanity, who are subject to God's moral law. Jesus came to set us free from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. Through his sacrifice, we can receive adoption as sons and daughters of God.
God not only sent Jesus to redeem us but also sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within us. The Spirit of Christ lives in our hearts, assuring us of our identity as children of God. The Holy Spirit cries out "Abba, Father," expressing our intimate relationship with God.
Christmas is a time to remember and celebrate the birth of Christ. It is about the advent of our Savior, who came to redeem us and offer us adoption into God's family. Through the Holy Spirit, we can experience the assurance of our identity as children of God. Let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas amidst all the festivities and distractions.
