Summary: The Perfect Response

Psalm 64 The Perfect Response

1 Peter 2:23 who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 1. David's Prayer v 1-2

To Hear - 1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer:

To Hold - 1 preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

To Hide From

Secret Counsels - 2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; Satanic Conflicts - from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity

2. David's Peril v 3-6

A Spoken Peril - 3 who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

A Secret Peril - 4 that they may shoot in secret at the perfect: A Sudden Peril - 4 suddenly do they shoot at him,

A Shameless Peril - 4 and fear not. A Supported Peril - 5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter: A Subtle Peril - 5 they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? A Studious Peril - 6 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: A Strategic Peril - both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep. 3. David's Protection v 7-10

It's Source - But God, It's Surety - shall shoot,

It's Subject - at them, with an arrow;

It's Severity - 7 suddenly shall they be wounded.

It's Strategy - 8 So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves:

It's Solemnity - 8 all that see them shall flee away. It's Sovereignty - 9 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. It's Success - 10 The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
