Summary: Come in and be born again

THE OPEN DOOR

Rev.3: 8I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

1. There was an open door to Noah

Heb.11: 7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

His entire family entered the ark

They believed God’s warring

They believed God’s word

2. There was an open door to Israel at the Red Sea

Heb .11: 29By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

God made a passageway for them

He made a passageway through the red sea

He made a passageway of escape from the Egyptians

He made a passageway to salvation

3. There was an open door to Israel at the Jordan

Joshua 3: 16That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

Joshua 4: 1And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,

God stopped the waters of the Jordan

God made the passage safe for the people to pass over

God wanted to keep them safe

4. God open a door for Rahab, the Harlot

Heb.11: 31By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

Joshua 6: 17And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

Joshua 6: 23And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.

Rahab did not perish Rahab

She was saved by the open door

Many perished in unbelief

Rahab was saved through faith in God

She was saved by the open door

5. Jesus Christ is our open door to Salvation

John 10: 7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Romans 5: 1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

1st John 5: 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

He is our open door

He is our deliverance

He is our open door to God’s place

He is the door to life everlasting

6. God can close the door that is now open

Gen 7: 16And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

Gen.7: 21And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

Gen. 8: 16Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.

John 10: 9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

The Lord shut Noah in

He remained until the storm passed

Noah shut others were shut out

Jesus Christ is the only door to God

John 14: 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
