Summary: A Vacation Bible School Introductory Sermon.
What are some attributes of the One True God that children will learn in our Vacation Bible School?
CREATOR
(Gen. 1:1) "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
"No "Big Bang" or long period of change created the world we now live in. Our world was spoken into existence by the One True God!
PROVIDER
"Sometimes God chooses to include man in the provision and sometimes He chooses not to." (2 fold)
(Luke 5:4-6) "When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch. But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking."
(2 Kings 4:5) "So she (widow) went from him (Elisha) and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it (oil) out."
HEALER
(Matt. 4:23) "And Jesus went about... teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all (some of all sorts) kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people."
Some Types of Diseases He Healed:
The Palsy - the greatest weakness of the body.
Seizures - the greatest weakness of the mind.
Demon-Posession - the greatest misery and calamity of both mind and body.
SAVIOR
(Luke 19:10) "for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."
Has come: From Glory, at the right hand of the throne of God.
To seek: To actively pursue.
To save: To become a propitiation for (to take the place of).
That which was lost (has gone astray): Because of the sin that began in the garden and has multiplied since.
(Rev. 5:9) "For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation..."
SOVEREIGN LORD
(Isa. 14:24) ""The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand"
(Ps. 135:6) "Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places."
"In the Beginning, He created when their was nothing and He now controls all created things. There is nothing that happens that escapes His view and nothing that happens that He has not "foreknown from the beginning."
He is truly Great and Awesome and worthy of Worship and Praise!"
