To encourage the congregation to seek and follow the old path of righteousness, despite its challenges, for it leads to spiritual rest and fulfillment.
Good morning, family. I want to talk today about the importance of righteousness, specifically focusing on the old path of righteousness and the benefits that come from following it. It's a path you've all heard about before, but it's vital that we don't lose sight of it in our walk with God.
The inspiration for today's sermon comes from Jeremiah 6:16, which says, "Thus says the Lord: 'Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it." What a powerful message from the prophet Jeremiah.
