Toddler Ten Commandments:
1. If I like it, it’s mine.
2. If it’s in my hand, it’s mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it’s mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it’s mine.
5. If it’s mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
6. If I’m building something, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it looks like mine, it’s mine.
8. If I saw it first, it’s mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.

Most common challenges faced by mothers:
1) Monotony and loneliness
2) Stress from too many demands
3) No one to ask for help
1. Moms need Godly vision.
1 Samuel 1:26-28 NIV
“And she said to him, "As surely as you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the LORD. 27 I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. 28 So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD." And he worshiped the LORD there.”
• A mother’s first instinct is to nurture and protect her children.
• Moms need to embrace God’s call on their children and be willing to release them at the appropriate time. Impart God to them and then turn them over to God.
• God’s plan for your children will require you to trust God as much at it will require your children to trust God.
No one believes in your children the way you do.
When Thomas Edison was young, his teacher sent him home with a note which said, 'Your child is dumb. We can't do anything for him.' Mrs. Edison wrote back, 'You do not understand my boy. I will teach him myself'. And she did. (Thomas Edison has almost 1100 patents, including inventions of the light bulb and phonograph.)
2. Moms need Godly mentors.
2 Timothy 1:5 NIV
“I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.”
Younger women must learn to ask for help as much as older women must learn to offer their help.
3. Moms need God’s strength.
Ephesians 3:20-21(NIV)
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
Most strong Christians today either came from pagan or passionate parents.
Lukewarm parents rarely produce passionate believing children.
Our children need to see our strength, our passion for Christ.
Story of Susannah Wesley (Mother of 19 children, including John and Charles Wesley)
Susannah Wesley prayed two hours a day. She organized her children so this could be accomplished. She had a system by which they would take care of each other, and this was the root of Methodism. (In the beginning, what distinguished Methodists was their system). John and Charles, as little boys, just watched their mom. If she couldn’t find a room to retreat to, they watched her flip her apron up over her head and pray.
Airlines have it right – adjust your own oxygen mask first before assisting others. ?
