Message Point: God wants us to know Him intimately.

Focus Passage: Exodus 3:12-15

Introduction: To hallow a thing is to make it holy or to set it apart to be exalted as being worthy of absolute devotion. To hallow the name of God is to regard Him with complete devotion and loving admiration. God's name is of the utmost importance (Neh 9:5); therefore we ought reserve it a position of grave significance in our minds and hearts. II. Name of the Son

a. For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6 NASB)

b. And when eight days had passed, before His circumcision, His name was then called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb. (Luke 2:21 NASB)

c. Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am." (John 8:58 NASB)

d. The Son of Man- Means he is a man (Son of Man) within the lineage of humanity.

e. Son of David- Means Jesus is a King a descendent of David being an heir to his throne.

f. Son of Abraham- Means Jesus is of a Jewish descent.

g. Son of God –Means Jesus is God just as the Father is God. The phrase "Son of"- is used among the ancients to refer to one who has the same nature as...Son of God, means he has the same nature as God. He was called THE Son of God, being unique one of a kind.

III. Name of the Holy Spirit

a. "When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, (John 15:26 NASB)
