Introduction: Do you ever see the world and wonder how Christians will make it? We live in a world that is disregarding a Holy God. God has been reduced to a mere imagination by many, while others ignore Him. Even the religious people of our world have become Religious Atheists, claiming to know God, but disregarding Him in their daily lives. The Apostle Paul writes to the Pastor Titus with some instructions. In our text, in verse 8, Paul tells Titus to affirm these things constantly.

Prior to our text, the Apostle Paul had written:

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, vs.12, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; vs.13, Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; vs.14, Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Now in our text, in verses 1-2, Paul begins this chapter telling us how to react to the world. We are to obey the laws, though many of our leaders are against God, we are to be obedient as long as their commands do not violate God’s laws. When our leaders are against God, and His ways, we will choose God. We are not to slander others; we are to be peaceable, not looking for a fight, showing humility and meekness to others.

We live in a society that is now Godless in practice, and many times in philosophy and actions.

How can we live Godly in a Godless world?

2. The Renewal by the Holy Ghost - Eze 36:26, 2Co 5:17

III. Rest in the Words of Comfort - vs. 7

Conclusion: Will we live GODLY in this GODLESS world?

Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Disclaimer: A man once told me that if it is true, it is not new. If it is new, it is not true. We all know there is nothing new under the sun. With that said, I glean ideas for my sermons from God’s Word, my own thoughts and work, and many other sources. Any similarity to my sermons and others, where credit is not given, is either coincidental, or an unintentional mistake on my part. As none of us have a corner on the wisdom and teaching of God’s Word, it is my desire that any of my outlines be an encouragement, a help, and hopefully a motivation for others to preach God’s Word clearly. Please feel free to use any portion of my sermons if they can be of help to you and your ministry. I purposely include a skeleton outline, and not my full text, for this purpose. It is all for His Glory.
