THE MOTHER-HEART OF GOD

If your Mother never did any thing right, she did one thing totally right…She Had You and You Are Anointed of God. Thank God for your Mother.

Isaiah 66:12 For the Lord says, See, I will make her peace like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream, and she will take her children in her arms, gently caring for them on her knees. 13 As to one who is comforted by his mother, so will I give you comfort: and you will be comforted.

God pays a wonderful tribute to motherhood in Isaiah,

as He refers to His love for His children as "a mother’s love".

Jesus paid the same tribute to motherhood when He spoke of His concern and love for Jerusalem being typified by

"a hen gathering her chicks under her wing."

Matthew 23:37 , how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,

I. THE LOVE OF A CHRISTIAN MOTHER

TIPIFIES THE LOVE OF GOD FOR HIS CHILDREN:

"To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:19.

God’s love is non-preferential.

Illustration: A mother who had twelve children

was asked which one she loved the best. Her answer:

"The one who’s sick until he gets well;

and the one who is away until he gets back home!"

II. THE CONCERN OF A CHRISTIAN MOTHER TYPIFIES GOD’S CONCERN FOR HIS CHILDREN:

"Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you."

It has been said: "A father becomes concerned when his child breaks a bone….a mother when her child skins a knee!"

III. THE SACRIFICIAL COMPASSION OF A CHRISTIAN MOTHER TYPIFIES GOD’S SACRIFICIAL HEART:

II Corinthians 8:9 "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.".

Everyone blessed with a godly mother can supply an abundance of illustrations to support this, “piggy-park”.

IV. THE PATIENCE OF A CHRISTIAN MOTHER TYPIFIES GOD’S PATIENCE WITH HIS CHILDREN: Romans 15:5

"Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus."

II Peter 3:9"The Lord….is long-suffering toward us,

not willing that any should perish, but that all

should come to repentance." .
