The miracle power of Jesus Christ leads to the salvation of precious souls.

Introduction

Percentage of adults who mostly agree or completely agree with the statement, "Even today, miracles are performed by the power of God": 82 percent.

Jesus’ miraculous works should do a number of helps to not only believe on Him but also to trust Him to do the same today and the same for you. Hebrews 13:8 declare He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

The works of Jesus should build faith.

(John 10:38 KJV) But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

I. What reasons did our Lord work miracles, signs, wonders, and works?

To Show His Identity (Mark 2:10).

A. Jesus healed the paralytic’s sickness to prove that He could solve the man’s biggest problem, which is sin.

1. The greatest miracle is the saving of a soul. It brings joy in heaven.

2. Salvation depends upon Christ's work for us, while rewards depend upon our works for Christ. Milburn Cockrell.

II. He was a Miracle Worker To Demonstrate That the Kingdom Had Come

Jesus said Mat 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

A. Casting out demons was a sign that the Messiah had come.

III. His miracles was able to show His Kindness

Mat 8:4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, show thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

A. Sometimes Jesus worked miracles just because He wanted to. His heart went out to hurting folk. No doubt the leper welcomed the words, “I am willing.” His heart is touched with our grief.

B. Jesus went everywhere doing good…..........

1 Kindness makes a person attractive. If you would win the world, melt it, do not hammer it. Alexander Maclaren.

IV. Jesus at times did miracles to stir controversy (John 5:1-18).

A. Miracles can make trouble, especially if they are done on a Saturday. It may sound odd, but Jesus sometimes worked miracles to stir up the people so that they would be forced to deal with His deity as the possibility of He being the Messiah.

1. No great advance has been made in science, politics or religion without controversy. Lyman Beecher.

V. Jesus would also reward faithfulness (Mark 7:24-30).

A. Faith is not always required for a miracle because God is sovereign. To the woman who was a definite outsider (a dog) the miracle proved a reward of her faith.

1. Don’t' waste your time waiting and longing for large opportunities which may never come. But faithfully handle the little things that are always claiming your attention. F.B. Meyer

VI. Jesus did miracles to fulfill prophecy

Mat 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

A. There is a right relationship between predictive prophecy and the Messiah. It was said that when He came the deaf would hear, the blind would see, and the lame would leap like a deer.

VII. Jesus did miracles of healing to show the Love and the Glory of God!

John 11:4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

A. When we follow Jesus we behold the glory and love of God. When people saw Lazarus walking around all they could say was, “Glory to God.”

Conclusion

The miracle power of Jesus Christ is still God’s undependable method to world evangelism. Miracles are not just proofs of deity; miracles of the Bible have salvation in them. “Faith”, “save”, and “mercy” are words that appear in the miracles of Jesus. When a miracle takes place we have a brief glimpse into heaven where there is no sickness, death, or oppression by the devil.

REMEMBER: The miracle ministry of Jesus Christ is still God’s indispensable method of world evangelism today. That the church is still the greatest power on earth today. It is because the Church possesses Christ.
