1.

THE MIND….(SLIDE ILLUSTRATION)

So much goes on in our mind. Day to day management. Breathe in breathe out. Left leg right leg when walking.

We don’t even think about it – shake hands.

I mean one of the lines my mom used to ask me and it sticks in my head:

What the hell were you thinking. I mean what was going on in your head. Do that again and I will knock your block off.

We refer to our minds brains, heads so much don’t we…

We just don’t give it another thought. It completely slipped my mind. You may be studying and you just cant get the biology into your head.

Maybe you should just change your mind….

YES THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED TO DO. CHANGE YOUR MIND.

Ephesians 4:23 says we need to be mad new in the attitude of our minds.

I mean lets admit it – there is a whole lot of residue that in here that we we would love to get rid of.

Wash it all out and start clean

But we just cant seem to get rid of those thoughts.

CHANGE YOUR MIND – LOOSE YOUR MIND

There is no way that anyone of us can stand here today and say that we think angelic thoughts all day everyday.

2.

We have corrupt mental thoughts. They are devious, pervous and sometimes downright wrong – but thats the way the sauasage bends….

“Through one man sin entered into the world.”

Satan adds to that by playing on the very fact that He knows you are having imperfect thoughts – he has no clue what they are – he just knows they are wrong.

SO IF WE ARE CHRISTIAN, WE GOT SOME CLEANING OUT TO DO – WE ARE TO HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST. WE GOT TO START THINKING LIKE A CHRIST FOLLOWER.

LOOSE YOUR MIND AND CLICK IN THE MIND OF CHRIST

1Co 2:16 Isaiah’s question, "Is there anyone around who knows God’s Mind, anyone who knows what he is doing?" has been answered: Christ knows, and we have Christ’s mind.

Philippians 2:5-9 5

I. The mind of Christ is a Submissive mind. (Vv.5-6)

The mind of Christ is not a self-centered mind. It is not a stubborn mind; rather it is a mind of surrender and submission.

Christ submitted to the will of the father. Isaac hopped up onto that altar.

Christ was willing to listen and become involved sacrificially to the will of God.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

The will of the Father replaced personal desire.

4.

Get up out of your own desire space. Start doing some searching and find out what is the will is in your life. Stop saying you don’t know – the Lord has not given it to you.

You can’t hear caus what he is saying does not line up with your own desire.

II. The mind of Christ is Reputationless – self abased(V.7)

"But made himself of no reputation, …"

The mind of Christ is not a self-exalting life;

WE HAVE TO GET RID OF THE IDEA THAT GOD IS HERE FOR ME. I AM HERE FOR GOD.

If you possess the mind of Christ you will be a self-abased individual instead of a self-absorbed individual.

Challenge for you – you find ref. in scrip of a prayer to build your kingdom over the kingdom of God.

III. The mind of Christ is a Servile mind. (V.7)

“…and took upon him the form of a servant…”

The life of our savior was a life of absolute service.

Do we have to be begged and prodded into service? If we do, then we do not possess the mind of Christ. Someone who possesses the mind of Christ is someone who willingly serves.

IV. The mind of Christ is a Sacrificial mind. (V.8)

The mind of Christ is a sacrificial mind. It is a mind that is willing to sacrifice what ever the cost of the sacrifice may be.
