The hand of God is mighty upon us his children. God created us all in his own image and likeness according to the book of Genesis 1:27. So because he is our creator his hand is upon us, knowing that the hand of God is upon us will help us to rest in his plan for our lives. It does not matter what we are going through right now in our lives the most important thing to know is that God has his hands on us.
God knows where we are at the moment in our lives be it spiritually, physically, financially ,emotionally and mentally, and because his hand is upon us He will make sure that all things will work out for our good.!
God is the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient God whose eyes are upon us as his children.
God is fully aware of what is happening in our lives and with His mighty hand on us He is able to deliver us from trouble and help us through it all.
Isaiah 59:1 records this
Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened,
That it cannot save;
Nor His ear heavy,
That it cannot hear.
Another translation puts it this way
Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you,
nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call. (NLT)
God's hand is not too short or to weak to save us from the hands of the enemy. We are loved by God so much that he sent His only begotten Son to die for us all - John 3:16
With His hand he parted the red sea - Exodus 14:21
With His hand the sun stood still and the moon stopped - Joshua 10:13
With His hand he opens and no one can shut and He shuts and no one can open - Revelation 3:7 and Isaiah 22:22
God loves us so much He wrote our names in the palm of His hands - Isaiah 49:16
Since the LORD has written our names in the palms of his hand then according to the book of Psalms 138;8
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
Therefore, with the hand of God on us, all his plans for us will manifest in our lives to his glory. And He will also perfect that which concerns us all.
There are examples from the word of God to prove this:
1. Joseph
Genesis 37-50
- His father favoured him
- His brothers did not like him
- God gave him dreams that he will rule over his family
- His brothers plotted to kill him
- They sold him as a slave to the Egyptians
- He was the kings favourite
- The king's wife accuses him
- Joseph was put in prison
- He was forgotten in prison
- God gave the king dreams
- Joseph was called to give the interpretation of the dream
- The king made him a ruler
- Because of the famine his family had to flee to Egypt
- Joseph's family bowed down to him
In this story in Genesis 45:5, 7-8 the plan of God came to manifestation in his life because the hand of God was upon him.
Another example is Job
Job 1 - 42
- Job trusted in God
- He lost everything he owned in one day - property, possession and his children
- His three friends accused him of committing sin
- He was physically tormented
- His wife told him to curse God in his pain
The plan of God came through in his life because God's hand was mighty in his life. And Job was able to say in Job 19:25
For I know that my Redeemer lives,
And He shall stand at last on the earth.
God's hand is mighty to save.
This tells us that if God is for us, no one can be against us in Romans 8:31 and has God's hand is upon us we can trust in him to always save us.
Isaiah 64:8
But now, O Lord,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand.
The clay cannot say to the potter
"What are you making"?
We are the clay and we cannot say to our creator or argue with our creator because we are created by Him and we cannot question Him as our maker as well.
What we can do is to trust him that at the end of it all, he promised us in
Romans 8:28
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
