The Message Of Angels Series

It’s interesting as I have received letters from people how many of them talk about how angels have appeared to them at night. This lady, who asked that her name not be used, writes, “In 1975 I was living in Utah where I shared an apartment with a girl from Australia. Once I had gone to sleep while my roommate was out. At about 2:00 a.m. I was called out of a deep sleep by a male voice calling my first name. The voice said at least two times as I was awaking gradually, “Get up and lock your door.” As soon as I was awake, the message no longer was audible. It was intense. I rationalized that Cindy would not leave the door unlocked, because I did not want to get up in the cold, but the message was far too strong. I got up and observed that the front door was locked, but the prompting kept urging me to check the kitchen door that opened into an alley behind the apartment complex. I froze with fear as I saw that the door, which we virtually never opened, was indeed unlocked. That internal voice almost shouted, because it was as if I could not move so great was my sense of danger. The voice said, “NOW!” I ran, locked the door, and chained it, just as I did, I heard from the alley a human sounding noise like footsteps and someone tried to turn the doorknob. To this day, I have believed an angel woke me audibly and then guided me to lock that door!”

Isn’t that amazing? I’ve had other letters people have written me about driving along and falling asleep and suddenly it’s as if a voice awoke them before they had an accident. That’s happened a number of times.

What is the lesson that we can learn from this? You may want to look at your outline again. This has been a real blessing to my heart. Here’s something we can learn from this: Whenever you awake suddenly, listen and pray. I am one of these kinds of guys that never has any trouble going to sleep. On the average, it takes me about four seconds to go to sleep when my head hits the pillow. My wife is not like that, and some people aren’t, but I’m just one of those that I just have no trouble going to sleep and I usually sleep soundly all throughout the night and wake up very refreshed. But like most of you, there are times when suddenly in the middle of the night, I’ll just wake up. For years I just didn’t know what was going on but I want to tell you, since I have done this study on angels, every time that has happened since, then whenever I awake in the middle of the night, I always listen and almost every time God lays someone on my heart that I should pray for. I listen and I’m asking myself, “All right I’m awake now. God, did you awake me for some reason? Did you send an angel to awake me to tell me to pray for somebody?” And I just start praying and sometimes I’ll pray maybe even for an hour almost solid, but I use that time I wake up in the middle of the night to listen to God and to pray for somebody. So, I want to challenge any of you who when you wake up in the middle of the night suddenly don’t get scared don’t get worried listen to God and start to pray. It’s amazing how many times an angel will come to us while we are asleep and say, “Wake up! Wake up!”
