Summary: God loves everyone the same, regardless of who they are, where they’ve been, or what they’ve done. And that’s what I want us to look at this morning.

Introduction:

Sometimes I feel so unlovable. Have you ever felt that way? I look around and sometimes wonder just how God could love somebody like me.

I have met people whose lives were in shambles and full of sin that had destroyed their lives and felt like God could never love them because of the way they were. Some feel that they have been so mean and cruel to others that God couldn’t possibly love them.

The fact is that God loves everyone the same, regardless of who they are, where they’ve been, or what they’ve done.

You were created in the image and likeness of God for His good pleasure. He wants to reach out and love you if you will only let Him.

Let me share with you several things about God’s love for us this morning.

I. God’s Love is Capable of Looking Beyond Our Faults

A. Sees us for what we could be rather than what we are now in our hopeless, helpless state.

B. Human love has difficulty loving others because of their faults and failures, but God’s love is perfect love regardless of our mistakes.

C. God specializes in the finished product of man, not the beginning.

II. God’s Love Was Expressed while We Were Yet Sinners

A. Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

B. Before we knew God, He knew us and loved

us with an everlasting love. That Agape love.

III. God’s Love Bestows a Rich Heritage on Us

A. A great self worth or image.

B. Members of the family of God. Children of God, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. All that the Father has, we have. Wealthy because our Father in heaven is wealthy.

C. Eternal life

Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.”

Conclusion:

Do you feel as if nobody loves you? Have you wondered what it would be like for somebody to love you regardless of your faults and failures? Why not allow Jesus to love you this morning. When you do, you will find that your deepest longings have been fulfilled and that no one could love you like Jesus.
