God's favor is not about a life without problems, but a life where we are equipped to handle them, and His love and protection are especially for those who are in need and suffering.

Introduction

Good morning, brothers and sisters!

Psalm 12:5 says, "Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise," says the LORD. "I will protect them from those who malign them."

God continually expresses his unfailing love and favor for His children, especially those who are in need and suffering.

Have you ever pondered over this question - Who is the man or woman that will enjoy God's favor? And what are the blessings that come with God's favor? Well, today, we're going to unwrap these questions and see what the Word of God has for us.

C.S. Lewis once said, "God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain."

What a beautiful reminder of how God's favor is not about a life without problems, but a life where we are equipped to handle them, where our spirit remains unstained despite the trials.

God's Favor for His Children

God's favor for His children is deeply personal. It is the assurance that God is for us, not against us. It is the conviction that in every circumstance, God's hand is at work for our good.

The first aspect of God's favor that we need to understand is its inclusivity. God's favor is not exclusive to a select few. It is not a privilege reserved for the righteous, the religious, or the rich. Instead, God's favor is available to all His children, regardless of their social status, economic condition, or moral standing. This truth is beautifully encapsulated in Psalm 12:5, where God promises to arise and protect the poor and the needy from those who malign them. This verse underscores the fact that God's favor is not a reward for our goodness but a reflection of His goodness.

The second aspect of God's favor is its transformative power. God's favor is a dynamic force that brings about change. It is not a protective bubble that shields us from problems but a divine empowerment that enables us to overcome them. When God's favor is upon us, we are not merely survivors; we are more than conquerors. We are not victims of our circumstances; we are victors over them. This is the transformative power of God's favor.

The third aspect of God's favor is its enduring nature. God's favor is not a fleeting emotion but an unchanging attribute. It is not dependent on our performance but anchored in His promises. Even when we falter, fail, or fall, God's favor remains steadfast. It is not a fair-weather friend that deserts us in times of trouble but a faithful ally that stands by us in times of trial. This is the enduring nature of God's favor.

The fourth aspect of God's favor is its redemptive purpose. God's favor is not a random act of kindness but a purposeful act of grace. It is not a mere gesture of goodwill but a grand plan of salvation. God's favor is not an end in itself but a means to an end. The ultimate purpose of God's favor is not to make our life comfortable but to make our life count. It is not to pamper us but to prepare us for His purposes. This is the redemptive purpose of God's favor.
