“The Love of God”

Jeremiah 31:3

I. God’s Love is IMPRESSIVE. (v. 3a) “The LORD hath appeared of OLD unto me, saying (KJV)”- “The LORD appeared to him from AFAR saying (NASB)” – far-reaching; Deuteronomy 10:15; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; 1 John 4:9-10; John 1:29; 3:17; Luke 9:56; John 12:47-48; Isaiah 45:21-23; 1 John 2:2; 4:14

II. God’s Love is INDIVIDUAL. (v. 3b) “Yea, I” – personal; Deuteronomy 7:7-9; 33:3; John 13:1; Romans 5:6, 8; John 14:23

III. God’s Love is IMPACTIVE. (v. 3c) “HAVE Loved” – Certain; Immediate; Deuteronomy 4:37; 10:17; Isaiah 43:4; Ezekiel 16:8; John 15:9

IV. God’s Love is INTENTIONAL. (v. 3d) “THEE” – Directed; John 3:16; Hosea 11:1; Malachi 1:2; Deuteronomy 23:5; 1 John 4:19

V. God’s Love is INFINITE. (v. 3e) “with an EVERLASTING love” – Eternal; Imperishable; Indefinite; Psalm 103:17; Isaiah 45:17; 54:8; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-16; 2 Timothy 1:9; 1 Peter 1:18-20; Revelation 13:8; Psalm 36:10

VI. God’s Love is INFLUENTIAL. (v. 3f) “Therefore with lovingkindness have I DRAWN THEE” – Powerful; Impositional; Hosea 11:4; John 6:44-45; Ephesians 2:4-5; Titus 3:3-6; 1 Peter 1:3; Isaiah 43:1
