Summary: Remembering the Lord Jesus Roots when we partake in Holy Communion.

In the First Book of Corinthians, Chapter 11 verse 23, the Apostle Paul delivers a most profound revelation to the Church in Corinth for which He received from the Blessed Lord Jesus of what includes most certainly, the greatest betrayal. In this, the Apostle Paul giveth to us the suffering of our Lord’s betrayal by His Disciple, Judas during the Lord’s Last Supper and how to partake in Holy Communion.

“And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.” 1 Corinthians 11:24

The Communion of the Lord must be done with honor unto Him and with His Children walking in unity. When we walk not with thy Lord; we are not worthy to partake of eating the Bread and drinking from the Cup of the Holy One.

Let us read the Apostle Paul’s rebuke to the Corinthians concerning division as written in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 11, verses 17 through 18:

“Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.”

The Apostle declares that the Corinthians were unworthy of Communion because of the division and heresies in the Church. We read further of the flesh in the Church and the grieving of the Blessed Holy Spirit; as there became a spirit of division that entered into their hearts as written in 1 Corinthians 11:21:

“For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.”

We must guard our hearts with all diligence and keep it tender for thy Master. Daily, we must enter into His Chambers delighting in Him, our First Love, focusing on The Cross. Lest never forget as we sup; the greatest love and suffering for us by our Beloved Lord. In His Blessed Presence, yield to the Holy Spirit as He may place on your heart that day over 2000 years ago when envy walked to apprehend the Lord Jesus from His Secret Place and then arrest Him!

The Holy Spirit is faithful to cause us to be graced with faithfulness to honor the Lord’s Sacrifice. And, as our Comforter on Earth will continue to make our hearts love the Lord Jesus more than these. Let us take our seat in this most intimate time and remember thy Faithful One. Beloved, enter in with thanksgiving and praise for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords; just as He praised our Father God on the night of His Betrayal.

How might we praise thy Lord during this time of Communion with Him? We adore, praise and honor Him by recognizing His Jewish roots.

Our Lord Jesus would have observed Passover on that faithful Night of His Betrayal with The Four Cups of Passover. The Messiah, our Risen Lord would have recited Grace over the Third Cup and over Hallel, The Fourth Cup – Cup of Praise, and the Lord sang praises unto His Father with His Disciples from Psalms 113 through 118.
