V. THESIS:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for I am surrounded by Your mercy and loving-kindness because I trust, depend, rely, and confidently leans only on You.

VI. TITLE:

The LORD's mercy surrounds me

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Authors: Authorship of many is uncertain, generally attributed to King David.

B. Date written: c. 1440 to 450 B.C. ( From Moses to Ezra)

C. Purpose: 150 songs to praise and worship GOD

D. To whom written: Sometimes to GOD, sometimes to author

E. Main Themes: praise and worship, prayer and praise

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Many are the sorrows of the wicked

"Many are the sorrows of the wicked,"

Many or "rab" in Hebrew meaning:

1. abundant in quantity, size, age, number, rank, quality

Sorrows or "makob makob makobah" in Hebrew meaning:

1. anguish

2. affliction

3. grief

4. pain

5. sorrow

An idol worshipper has many sorrows.

Psalms 16:4 (Amplified Bible)

16:4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who choose another god; their drink offerings of blood will I not offer or take their names upon my lips.

Self-seeking but not GOD-seeking.

Romans 2:8-9 (Amplified Bible)

2:8 But for those who are self-seeking and self-willed and disobedient to the Truth but responsive to wickedness, there will be indignation and wrath.

2:9 [And] there will be tribulation and anguish and calamity and constraint for every soul of man who [habitually] does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek (Gentile).

Lovers of money not of GOD.

1 Timothy 6:10 (Amplified Bible)

6:10 For the love of money is a root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with many acute [mental] pangs.

Wicked people are wicked not because of wicked things they do, but in this lifetime they have rejected the salvation of the LORD JESUS thru grace that's offered to them while here on earth. The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but spiritual death while you're alive.

B. The LORD's mercy surrounds those who trusts in the LORD

"but he who trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on the Lord shall be compassed about with mercy and with loving-kindness"

Shall compass him about or "sabab" in Hebrew meaning:

1. to revolve, surround or border

2. bring, cast, fetch, lead, make, walk

Mercy or "chesed" in Hebrew meaning:

1. kindness

2. piety - is a compound of veneration or reverence of the Supreme Being and love of his character, or veneration accompanied with love

3. beauty: favor, good deed

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (Amplified Bible)

17:7 [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.

17:8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit.

Isaiah 12:2-3 (Amplified Bible)

12:2 Behold, God, my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and song; yes, He has become my salvation.

12:3 Therefore with joy will you draw water from the wells of salvation.

Psalms 146:5 (Amplified Bible)

146:5 Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is he who has the God of [special revelation to] Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

Psalms 147:11 (Amplified Bible)

147:11 The Lord takes pleasure in those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy and loving-kindness.

We are surrounded by the LORD's mercy while the wicked are surrounded by sorrows. That's our huge difference with the unbelievers.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for I am surrounded by Your mercy and loving-kindness because I trust, depend, rely, and confidently leans only on You.
