Summary: God created hosts when he created heaven and earth. Lord of Hosts refers to Lord who dwelleth between or among a group of hosts. The Lord is in the center, surrounded by the hosts.

Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” 1 Samuel 1:11

Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. Genesis 2:1

God created hosts when he created heaven and earth. Lord of Hosts refers to Lord who dwelleth between or among a group of hosts. The Lord is in the center, surrounded by the hosts. The Lord has a myriad of armies of hosts at his disposal. He is also the conductor of the magnificent orchestra that is all of creation. He creates stars, planets, black holes, massive cosmic objects, as well as new living forms, such as humans, and new species. God is always creating new things. As a result, the cosmos expands eternally in all directions every second. The Lord orchestrated creation and its sustenance. The hosts of atoms, matter, and molecules were all working toward the same goal: creation.

The Lord of Hosts has an army of angels, atoms, and molecules who work together to fulfill His plans. He orchestrates these armies to accomplish His plans and purposes.

Hannah was the first person in the Bible to call or associate to God by this name. In her struggle with Peninnah and barrenness, Hannah found the Lord of Hosts. She discovered the Lord of Hosts and made a vow to him. The beautiful thing was she found or discovered the Lord of Hosts. Her barrenness created a path for the Lord of Hosts to be revealed. Maybe sometimes God allows difficulties in our lives so that we can get a unique revelation of Jesus. This revelation has the potential to bring us out from our difficulties. What nature of the Lord did you discover in your struggle with difficulties?

Hannah has found this nature of God in her barrenness. The Lord of Hosts creates new life and lifeforms. Hannah made a vow and cried out to the one who is able to create something beautiful out of nothing. Hannah may have realized that God had an army at His disposal that will work to create something beautiful. Hannah recognized Lord as the God of armies, not only for battle but also to create new life. The whole host of heavens and earth listen to Jesus’ voice. This voice is obeyed by every atom, neutron, and molecule. Even every DNA molecule and hormone in our body obeys to this voice.

Hannah knew how to associate with the Lord of Hosts. Hannah made an agreement with the Lord of Hosts. You give me a son, and I will give him for your plan. In our difficulties, when we receive a unique revelation of Jesus, we must also associate with this revelation of Jesus.

Hannah’s barrenness revealed the knowledge of Lord of Hosts. Today the same Lord of Hosts can turn your barrenness to fruitfulness. The Lord of Hosts, who converted Hannah’s barrenness into fruitfulness, can do the same for you. Millions of hosts are at the disposal of the Lord of Hosts, waiting for His directives and commands. Plead with God to send His word to His Hosts in order to bless you and make your life fruitful.

Associate Jesus to the role of Lord of Hosts in your lives, to whom all creation listens. When you find the unique revelation of Jesus in your difficulties, this revelation creates a path to bring you out of your difficulties. Ask God to give you a unique revelation of Jesus that will not only bless you but will also bless your future generations.

All of the patriarchs, prophets, and people in the Bible had an association with God. God addressed Abraham as a friend. Abraham was associated with God as a friend. Our association with God is dependent on our knowledge of God. In your years of walk with God, did you associate with God and did God associate with you? Hannah created an association with the Lord of Hosts. Which nature of God did you associate with in your life? If you have never associated with God. Ask God to make you associate with some aspects of His nature.
