Explore and find comfort in the understanding of God as our Shepherd, Provider, and Protector.
Good morning, church family.
As we gather today, I am reminded of the comforting and profound words of A. C. Dixon when he wrote, "In Jesus Christ on the Cross there is refuge; there is safety; there is shelter; and all the power of sin upon our track cannot reach us when we have taken shelter under the Cross that atones for our sins." Isn't it comforting to know that we always have the protection of the Creator?
Today, we delve into one of the most familiar and beloved passages in the Bible, Psalm 23, where David reflects on God as our Shepherd, our Provider, and our Protector. It reads:
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
forever."
The concept of the Lord providing is beautifully encapsulated in the second and third verses of Psalm 23, where David writes, "He makes me lie down in green pastures ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
