Proverbs 3:26 (Amplified Bible)

For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].

Proverbs 3:26 (King James Version)

For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

A. The LORD is my Confidence

"For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong,"

What is confidence?

Confidence (according to Webster's dictionary) - a trusting, or reliance; an assurance of mind or firm belief in the integrity, stability or veracity of another, or in the truth and reality of a fact.

Confidence or "kesel" in Hebrew meaning: fatness, the viscera, silliness, trust, confidence, flank, folly, hope, loin.

Confidence is a very dangerous word then, if the object of the confidence is not the LORD. Remember, you do things that you have a heavy conviction of doing because you know it's right according to your senses and conviction and sense of peace, and people will just say you're just "silly", "folly", that't the same "feeling" so we need to have the LORD as BOTH the Object and Confidence Personified in our life. He will never allow you to be in danger or be caught in some accidents or danger.

Proverbs 14:26 (Amplified Bible)

In the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children shall always have a place of refuge.

Psalms 91:3 (Amplified Bible)

For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

Psalms 91:9-10 (Amplified Bible)

Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

Psalms 91:1 (Amplified Bible)

HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

Psalms 91:14 (Amplified Bible)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Habakkuk 3:17-18 (Amplified Bible)

Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls,

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation!

Romans 8:37 (Amplified Bible)

Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

B. The LORD shall keep you from danger

"and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger]"

1 Samuel 2:9 (Amplified Bible)

He will guard the feet of His godly ones, but the wicked shall be silenced and perish in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

Psalms 91:11-12 (Amplified Bible)

For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

The foothold is the dangerous hold on earth, for you might fall together with the enemy of GOD.

Ephesians 4:27 (Amplified Bible)

Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him].

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You are my Confidence and You have protected, preserved and kept me from danger through all these years, I credit, acknowledged and thank You for all of Your Divine Protection.
