"Praise the Lord, my soul. Lord, my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty."
This powerful verse encapsulates three key attributes of our God: He's the Creator, Sustainer, and the Provider.
Isn't it incredible? Our God isn't just an observer, but an active participant in our lives. He's not just sitting back and watching the world go by; He's intimately involved in every detail.
As Lailah Gifty Akita once said, "Great God of wonders and great provider. When I had nothing, God alone was more than enough. God meet every need."

The concept of God as the Creator of all things is a fundamental belief in Christianity, as it is the very first statement in the Bible, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1). This verse sets the stage for the rest of the Bible, establishing God as the origin of everything that exists.
What does this mean?: He is the source of all life, all matter, all energy, everything we see, touch, taste, hear, and smell. He is the origin of the vast cosmos with its billions of galaxies, stars, and planets. He is also the origin of the smallest particles that make up the atoms and molecules of matter.
He still creates: God's act of creation isn't just a one-time event that happened billions of years ago. He is continually creating, bringing new life into existence, and shaping the world in ways that we can't even begin to comprehend. Every sunrise, every blooming flower, every newborn baby is a testament to God's ongoing creative power.
His sovereignty: As the Creator, He has the right to rule over His creation. He sets the laws of nature, the principles of justice and morality, and the course of history. He is the ultimate authority, the highest power, the supreme ruler.
Reflects His character: The beauty, complexity, and diversity of the natural world reveal His wisdom, creativity, and love. The order and precision of the universe reveal His intelligence and precision. The vastness of the cosmos reveals His power and majesty.
Implications for our identity and purpose: If God is our Creator, then we are His creation. We are not random products of chance, but intentional works of art, designed with purpose and value. We are made in His image, with the capacity to think, feel, create, love, and relate to others. We are also stewards of His creation, entrusted with the responsibility to care for the earth and its creatures.
Understand His relationship with us: He is not a distant, impersonal force, but a loving Father who knows us intimately and cares for us deeply. He is involved in every detail of our lives, guiding us, providing for us, and working all things together for our good.
Filled with awe and gratitude: We are humbled by His greatness, inspired by His creativity, and comforted by His love. We are moved to worship Him, trust Him, and serve Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
