To show the origin of humanity of JESUS, and to know Him as the Branch not us.

Hebrews 7:14 (Amplified Bible)

7:14 For it is obvious that our Lord sprang from the tribe of Judah, and Moses mentioned nothing about priests in connection with that tribe.

V. THESIS:

The Root and the Offspring of David, the Branch from Judah loves me so much to reveal Himself this way to me. I live in CHRIST and He bears fruit within me.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. The LORD sprang from the tribe of Judah

"For it is obvious that our Lord sprang from the tribe of Judah,"

Judah means "he shall be praised", referring to the LORD who will come from that tribe in his humanity

Genesis 49:10 (Amplified Bible)

49:10 The scepter or leadership shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until Shiloh [the Messiah, the Peaceful One] comes to Whom it belongs, and to Him shall be the obedience of the people.

Numbers 24:17 (Amplified Bible)

24:17 I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but He is not near. A tar (Star) shall come forth out of Jacob, and a scepter (Scepter) shall rise out of Israel and shall crush all the corners of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth [Moab’s sons of tumult].

Psalms 60:7 (Amplified Bible)

60:7 Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is My helmet (the defense of My head); Judah is My scepter and My lawgiver.

It is as if the LORD is hidden from man's discovery, since they will look for him, and you know who wants to kill him. Even the Levites are to be the law giver, Judah remains the lawgiver according to this prophecy, which means, Judah will lead his brothers, not Judah but the One who will come from this tribe, the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

B. Moses mentioned nothing about priests coming from Judah

"and Moses mentioned nothing about priests in connection with that tribe"

No priests have been spoken by Moses to come from Judah's tribe but a Branch instead.

Isaiah 11:1 (Amplified Bible)

11:1 AND THERE shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David’s father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit.

Revelation 5:5 (Amplified Bible)

5:5 Then one of the elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said to me, Stop weeping! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root (Source) of David, has won (has overcome and conquered)! He can open the scroll and break its seven seals!

Revelation 22:16 (Amplified Bible)

22:16 I, Jesus, have sent My messenger (angel) to you to witness and to give you assurance of these things for the churches (assemblies). I am the Root (the Source) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and brilliant Morning Star.

The Root and the Offspring of David, the Branch from Judah loves me so much to reveal Himself this way to me. I live in CHRIST and He bears fruit within me.
