THE LAMB OF GOD
John 1:29 ¶ The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world!
The fulness of the finished work of Christ as the lamb of God will not be fully realized until after the white throne judgement. The sinners unsaved must be separated to the lake of fire. The Christian new heaven.
The death of Christ was more than a murder of a martyr ;he died as a sacrifice.
(1) A sinless lamb.
2nd Cor.21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
Without blight –he had no sin
Without blemish—he new no sin
without bitterness----No guile found in his mouth
(2) Separated lamb .
Heb.7:26 ¶ For such a high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Sanctified by and through the father
Scriptures literally fulfilled
Separated from the fallen
(3) Substituted lamb.
Heb.912 neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Took our sin sorrow and disease
Tasted death
Mystery of the Old Testament tabernacle revealed
(4) Slain lamb
Rev.13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life 1. Ps. 69.28 of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Slain from the foundation of the world
Shed his precious blood to redeem us
Sin-bearer to place us in the right position
(5) Sacrificed lamb .
1st Cor:5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover 1. Ex. 12.5 is sacrificed for us:
Make atonement for sinful man
Magnified righteousness and the written word
Triumphed over Satan the devil
(6) Sufficient lamb
Heb.10:12 but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Met and Satisfied gods demand
Means available for time and eternity
Mediator between us and God
(7) Saving lamb
Heb.7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Able to save all man kind
Abounding in love and power
Abolish the penalty of sin and death
