 Ancient Jews were farmers . Because of this scripture  refers to their occupation to prove a point.

The great Prophet Hosea used this strategy  to tell Israel that they were turning into a nation of backsliders.

I believe if I said we need a revival in the church & our land that the vast majority of you would be in agreement with me.

Revival by definition has to major focuses

Fallow ground is ground that once it has been tilled now it lies in waste . It needs to be broken up before it can receive grain again.

If you want to break open the fallow ground of your heart , you are going to do as Michael Jackson instructed & look at the Man in the Mirror , & ask him to change his ways. No message could be any clearer , if you want to make the world a better place, look at yourself & make that change !

Many times we file in & out of church never knowing the condition of our own hearts .

Im asking you not to be in a hurry today , to examine yourself in your heart & answer… how close are you really to the Lord ?

Do you remember all the times that you received favors from God for which you never thanked him?

Or the provisions he provided you never thanked him for ?

Think how grieved you’d be if your spouse or child discovered you no longer loved them as you once did .

Yet…..

Neglect of Bible reading

When did you last turn off the phone , get up early to pray m grab your Bible instead if the remote control ?

Cnn ,MSNBC

Weather Channel are more real news to us than the scriptures we claim we believe !

Turn back to your first love !  Turn back to the real news , the Bible !

Neglect of Prayer

We don’t even pray over the blessing anymore much less together !

If I held a prayer meeting, it would be a guarantee that everyone would stay at home. We have after all other gods to worship & sacrifice ourselves too!

Matthew 24:12(NLT)

 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.

You have friends & relatives hanging over the abyss of the eternal damned & doomed , yet many times we have grown cold & dim to their plight .

Any day now that rope of mercy from above could break sending them into the corridors of Hell.

In the meantime, we actively walk in

Worldliness , pride, envy , critical spirits , slander, lying , cheating, hypocrisy , & yes, even robbing God at the offering.

Our tempers are bad.

Im not mad, but my heart is stirred , like David of old , I catch myself this day saying

Psalm 139:23-24(NLT)

Search me, O God, and know my heart;

    test me and know my anxious thoughts.

Point out anything in me that offends you,

    and lead me along the path of everlasting life!

Search your heart & I will search mine, Lord break open the fallow ground , let me receive Jesus as I did the day I first Believed !

James 5:16( MEV) The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much.

Webster s dictionary defines fervent as marked by great intensity or feeling and effectual is defined to produce a desired effect.'' this verse is saying that if we cry out to God passionately, then your prayers will produce your desired effect!' When Seymour bowed His head in that box, it wasn't beautiful, dignified, rehearsed prayers, it wasn't eloquent words of mans wisdom that moved Gods hand, it was a humble hearts cry to see God!

So the question is this, How bad do you want Revival?, do you want it enough to surrender your dignity for His deity?, do you want it bad enough to plant your head in a box and your knees on the ground until His presence enters.if thats what it takes?
