Summary: Using the book of Esther, showing how Christian, like Esther, obtain God’s favor and can have a victorious life.

Background on the Book of Esther
Chapter 1- Queen Vash’ti banished
Chapter 2- Esther Made queen
Chapter 3- Haman’s plot to kill the Jews, because
Mordecai will not pay homage to him.
Chapter 4- Jews fast and morn, because of Haman’s
decree. Esther recieves word. Esther calls
for the Jews to fast 3 days for her.
Chapter 5- Esther goes into king’s court, he spares
her life. Esther gives first banquet for the
King and Haman.
Chapter 6- King honors Mordecai
Chapter 7- Second banquet, Haman hanged
Chapter 8- Mordaci becomes prime minister. New decree
made that the Jews can defend themselves.
Chapter 9- Fight & Victory
Chapter 10- Mordecai’s greatness.
I. Recieved Kings favor (Esther 9.1)
{note- 13 day of Adar is Feb 28}
{Kings favor symbolic of God’s Favor
Godly favor is "unmerited" (undeserved)favor -GRACE}
{King Ahasuerus favor is found in Esther chap 2
makes Esther his queen), chap 6 (favor shown to
Mordecai), and chaps 7-10(overcoming enemies and
Jews become greater).}
A. God gives us favor through Christ
Scripture Ref John 3.16 "For God so loved the
that He gave His only begotten son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish but
have everlasting life."
B. Because of His favor we obtain salvation
Scripture Ref Titus 2.11 "For the grace of God
that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all
men."
Scripture Ref Ephesians 2.8 "For by grace are ye
saved through faith and that not of yourselves it
is the gift of God."
C. This grace is for everyone who will come
Scripture Ref Ephesians 4.7 "But unto everyone
of us is given grae aording to the measure of the
gift of God.
II. Unite and Plan Strategy (Esther 9.2)
{symbolic of unity in Christ and study of the Word}
A. The Jews come together to fight and plan
Scripture Ref Esther 8.11 "Wherein the king
granted the Jews which were in every city to
gather themselves together..."
B. Unity is pleasing to God and a type of anointing
Scripture Ref Psalm 133.1-2 "Behold how good and
how pleasent it is for brethern to dewell
together in unity! It is like the precious
ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the
beard, even Aarron’s beard, that went down even
to the skirts of his garments."
C. Early Church were mentally & physically united
Scripture Ref Acts 2.1 "And when the day of
Pentecost was fully come they were all with one
accord in one place"
Scripture Ref Acts 2.46 "And they continuing
daily with one accord in the temple..."
D. We must plan our strategy through the Word
Scripture Ref Esther 8.11 "and to stand for
their life to destory, to slay, and to cause to
perish, all the power of the people and province
that would assault them, both little ones and
women, and to take the spoil of them for a pray."

III. Win Favor of Enemies (Esther 9.3)
{symbolic of winning souls for Christ)
A. King’s favor brought fear to their enemies
(they won their enemies to agree with them and
many became prosylites)
Scripture Ref Esther 8.17 "And many of the
people of the land became Jews, for the fear of
the Jews fell upon them."
Scripture Ref Proverbs 16.7 "When a man’s ways
please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be
at peace with him."
B. As Christians we are called to love our enemies
Scripture Ref Romans 12.20,21 "Therefore if thine
enemy hunger, feed him, if he thirst, give him to
drink, for in doing so thou shalt heap coals of
fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but
overcome evil with good."
Scripture Ref Matthew 5.44 "But I say unto you,
Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do
good to them that hate you, pray for them which
despitefully use you, and persecute you."
IV. Come closer to the King (Esther 9.4)
{symbolic of coming closer to God}
{Mordecai beame greater and powerful because he
pleased the King}
A. Devoting ourselves to God and his statues, will
draw us closer to God

Children, and have overcome them, beause greater
is he that is in you, than he that is in the
world.

will draw nigh to you...’
V. Victory (Esther 9.5)
{By relying on God to give power to fight the Jews,
they recieved victory}
{note-REMEMBER THEY WERE WILLING TO FIGHT}
A. As Christians God will give us the victory

and in every city, withersoever the king’s
