Summary: Isaiah spoke words of comfort to Israel even though God had already revealed the judgment to come. Those words of comfort still ring true to the Body of Christ today.

We continue to tell people of the soon coming of the Lord. We preach the message of judgment to come. We tell the world that Jesus is the only answer. We cry in the wilderness of Sin that hell is real and that Heaven is the place to go. We preach against the evils of sin, the idolatry and every evil thing on the earth but it all seems so hopeless at times. Give us some hope that all that we do is for a reason and will serve a purpose.

Isaiah 40:8-9, "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

Here is God’s answer to all of us! Yes, the grass does wither and flower fades away but my Word shall stand forever! No matter how many do not accept the message of the gospel, and no matter how many choose to spend eternity without God, the message must yet go forth for there will be those who will hear and obey. God’s word is eternal. Eternity is a long time and we must not fail in our message of repentance.

Oh Church of the Living God, keep preaching your good tidings of great joy to all people. Keep telling them about Jesus. Now is not the time to be discouraged or fearful! Now is the time to lift up your voice, to be encouraged and strengthened in the fight!

Lift up your voice louder, shout it from the housetops, preach it in the market place, sow the seed of the gospel wherever you go for you don’t know what that seed will bring forth!

Don’t be afraid of what others may say! Don’t be worried about persecution! Don’t be discouraged when no one seems to be listening! God’s Word is true and will never fail.

Keep telling others that Jesus is coming soon! Behold, the King is Coming!

Isaiah 40:10-11, "Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."

Take courage this morning and know that Jesus is coming. He is still in control. He knows and sees all things and He is coming with a mighty hand to rule over the entire earth. We are soon going to be caught up to be Him in the air, never to leave Him again. We will be rejoicing around the throne in the twinkling of an eye and this world will pass away into oblivion as we stand in the presence of our Lord forever more.

There is work yet to be done. There are souls that must be reached. There are hard times of labor ahead for we are to occupy until He comes.

But when He comes, it will all be worth it! Jesus has promised us a great reward. His promises of a mansion on golden streets, of absolute joy and peace, of glorious times together for all eternity and, most of all, complete and full access to the very throne of God in all His majesty and glory will be ours forever. This old body will become perfect and never know sickness, pain, sorrow or death ever again. We will see our loved ones who have gone before. We will talk with Isaiah and all the prophets of old. We will have an eternity to visit with one another without any of the problems that seem to fill our conversations now.
