Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
This sermon's main point is to encourage believers to fearlessly live out and proclaim their faith in Christ, despite any opposition or fear, understanding that God is the ultimate authority.
Good morning, family. I trust that the Lord has kept you all well. Remember these profound words by A.W. Tozer, "A scared world needs a fearless church." We're going to dive into the Word today and explore what it means to truly stand up for Christ, even when it's not popular, even when it's not convenient, and even when it's downright scary.
Our Scripture this morning comes from Luke 12, verses 2-5, "There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him."
We're going to talk about the power of our invisible faith, the courage to stand up for Christ, and the responsibility we have to declare God's word.
Let's pray.
Dear God, open our hearts and minds to your Word today. Fill us with the courage to live out our faith boldly and to proclaim Your Word fearlessly. Help us to understand the depth of our responsibility as Your followers, and empower us to meet it with grace and faith. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
The power of the invisible Christian lies first and foremost in the inner transformation that takes place when we accept Christ as our Savior. This transformation is not always visible to the naked eye, but it is real and it is powerful. It is a change that begins in the heart and then radiates outward, affecting every aspect of our lives. Our thoughts, our attitudes, our actions, our relationships - everything is touched by this transformation. And while the world may not always see or understand it, God sees it and He uses it for His glory.
This invisible power also manifests itself in the way we live out our faith. As Christians, we are called to be salt and light in the world. We are called to influence the world for Christ, not through force or coercion, but through love, service, and the power of a godly example. This kind of influence is often subtle and unseen, but it is incredibly powerful. It is the power to change hearts, to change lives, and to change the world, one person at a time.
The power of the invisible Christian is also seen in the way we pray. Prayer is a powerful tool that God has given us to influence the spiritual realm. When we pray, we may not see immediate results, but we can be confident that our prayers are heard and that they have an impact. The Bible tells us that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective. They can move mountains, heal the sick, and bring about God's will on earth as it is in heaven.
Finally, the power of the invisible Christian is seen in the way we endure suffering and persecution for the sake of Christ. The world may see our suffering and think that we are weak or defeated. But in reality, our suffering is a powerful testimony to the reality of our faith and the hope that we have in Christ. It is through our suffering that we are able to share in Christ's sufferings and to show the world the power of His resurrection.
In all these ways and more, the invisible Christian wields a power that is far greater than anything the world can offer. It is a power that comes from God and that is used for His glory. It is a power that transforms us, that influences the world, that moves mountains through prayer, and that endures suffering for the sake of Christ. It is a power that is often unseen, but that is always at work, always making a difference, always advancing the kingdom of God.
