Summary: THE INTERPRETER

JOSEPH, JESUS AND THE INTERPRETER Gen. 42:9-25 v.23 And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter.

Many times the words of Jesus were not understood by those who heard Him:

Matt 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. Matt 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. Matt 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: 35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

A city full of churches, Great preachers, lettered men, Great music, choirs and organs, If these all fail what then? Good workers, eager, earnest, Who labor by the hour, But where, Oh where, My brother, Is God's almighty power?

Refinement, education, They have the very best, Their plans and schemes are perfect, They give themselves no rest. They get the best of talent, They try their uttermost, But, what they need my brother, Is God the Holy Ghost.

John 16 v 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
