THE IMPORTANCE OF FAITH

TEXT: HEB 11:6, MATTHEW 21:21, HEB 10:35-39

The bible definitely declares that faith is all important in our relationship with God. A life without faith is sin; Romans 14:23. There should not be any expectations from God without having faith in Him for provisions. Jesus commanded men to have faith in God. It is all important to have faith because no prayer will be answered without faith.

GENERAL POINTS CONCERNING FAITH:

Faith can grow – 2 Thessalonians 1:3, lead to utterance – Joshua 10:12-13, Cloths the naked ones – Matthew 6:30, heals the sick – Matthew 8:1-17, James 5:14-16, Faith dispels fear – Matthew 8:26, it makes whole – Mark 10:52, saves from sin – Luke 7:36-50, Ephesians 2:8-9. Faith purifies the heart – Acts 15:9. Faith sanctifies the believer – Acts 26:18. Faith works with righteousness and gives access to grace – Romans 1:17, Romans 5:2. It gives security – 2 Corinthians 1:24. We are blessed through faith – Galatians 3:14. Faith brings hope and salvation – Ephesians 2:8-9, faith quenches the fiery darts of satan – Ephesisans 6:16, through faith we inherit the promise – Hebrews 6:12, Faith keeps one true to God – 1 Peter 1:5. Faith can produce obedience and it can be increased – 2 Corinthians 10:15, Luke 17:5. Faith can be examined – 2 Corinthians 13:10. A man of faith can be shipwrecked – 1 Timothy 5:12-13, A man of faith can err – 1 Timothy 6:10,21. One can be overthrown – 2 Timothy 2:18. If a man is not careful, he may reject the faith – 2 Timothy 3:8, Keep your faith – 2 Timothy 4:7.

NECESSARY STEPS TO FOLLOW WHEN FAITH SEEMS WEAK AND VICTORY SEEMS LOST

* Recognize the source of opposition as being of satan

* Be sure that the promises of God covers what you ask for.

* Be sure that you are not living in open or secret sin

* Be sure that no doubt or unbelief is permitted in your life concerning the promises

* Ask God in faith, not in wavering and believe that what you asked is yours
