THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE TRNITY

1. Eternal

Hebrews 9: 14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

2. He has always existed.

Psalms 139: 7Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

He is omnipresent.

He is everywhere.

He is Omniscient.

1st Corinthians 2: 10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

He knows everything.

He is Omnipotent

Acts 10: 38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

He has all powerful.

He is Holy.

1st Corinthians 6: 11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

1st Peter 1: 2Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

The holiness of the Spirit purifies Christians.

He is the truth.

The Holy Spirit is truth as Christ is the truth.

1st John5: 6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

He is self-existent

Yet one with God and Christ

Romans 8: 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

2nd Corinthians 3: 3Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

The spirit of the living God.

He is Glorious

1st Peter 4: 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
