THE HOLY MOUNTAINS OF GOD ISRAEL

When we look at these mountains we can see what God can do.

God teaches us is many ways and through his great creation.

1st Samuel 13: 2 Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.

1.Ebal.

Deuteronomy 11:29 And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.

Understand God blessed some mountains and cursed others.

Ebal he cursed Full of judgment. Full of deceit. Ev.il was found here.

Barron Mountain.

2. Mount Hor.

Numbers 20: 26 And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.

27 And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.

28 And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.

People died here. Aaron was striped of his garments passed to his son.

Aaron died because he went against God. He rebelled against God.

He did not get to go in the promise land.

3.Nebo are Sinai

Exodus 19: 19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

Obey Listen Hear and God came down

4.Tabor.

1st Samuel 10: Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:

Purity Clean Bethel a place of peace and joy.

5.Sinai

Exodus 19: 20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

God came unto them on this mountain.

6.Carmel

1stSamuel 25: 1 And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran.

2 And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.

A place of harvest.

7.Zion.

2nd Samuel 5: 7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

A strong place to be because God gave it to David. His grave is there.

8.Calvary

Luke23: 33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

A place of death yet a place of life.

9.Transfiguration

Mark 9: 1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.

Jesus returns to heaven.
