1. His Resources - The Ministry of The Holy Ghost - The Ministry to -

The Preacher - 1 it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth

The Pastor - 1 Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, he said unto them,

The People - 2 Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?

2. His Requirement - The Majesty of The Holy Ghost

“The chief danger of the 20th century will be religion without the Holy Spirit, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance,

salvation without regeneration, politics without God,

and heaven without hell.”

A Personal Question - 2 he said unto them, Have ye

A Practical Question - Have ye received the Holy Ghost

A Pertinent Question - since ye believed? - These were believers

A Pivotal Question - Are you saved or not? Romans 8:8-10

The Problem - 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

The Position - 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit,

if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.

The Perdition - Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of his

The Privation - 10 and if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin

The Preservation - but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death;

but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

3. His Refusal - The Mystery of The Holy Ghost

2 And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

Their Confession - 2 And they said unto him,

Their Confusion - We have not so much as heard

Their Confliction - whether there be any Holy Ghost.

4. His Replacement - The Mimicry of The Holy Ghost

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Galatians 3:1-3

The Problem - 1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

The Prize - 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

The Perversity - 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit,

are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

5. His Restraint - The Modesty of The Holy Ghost

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. John 16:12 - 15

The Problem - John 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you,

but ye cannot bear them now.

The Person - 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come,

The Purpose - he will guide you into all truth:

The Pronouncement - for he shall not speak of himself;

but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:

The Promise - and he will shew you things to come.

The Praise - 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine,

and shall shew it unto you.

The Profit - 15 All things that the Father hath are mine:

therefore said I that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

6. His Reception - The Morality of The Holy Ghost -

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

7. His Ratification - The Mastery of The Holy Ghost

The Time - 6 And when Paul

The Touch - had laid his hands upon them,

The Transformation - the Holy Ghost came on them;

The Translation - and they spake with tongues,

The Transmission - and prophesied.

The Transition - 7 And all the men were about twelve.
