America’s organized churches and church buildings have chased after the love of money for years. Because of the doctrine of the great American Dream and Democratic Capitalism, more is done in our church building to accumulate money than to save souls. Almost every Sunday, our multi-million dollar church buildings produce magnificent productions to encourage the people to venture to these temples, monuments, and edifices. However, instead of returning enlightened, edified, and enriched in the word of God, a large majority of the children of God just to return home broke and deceived. These loyal members contribute their money to the church building and/or church organization only to return to the food lines and welfare office seeking assistance. Although, we watched and cheered as these organizations grew in wealth and fame in the world, America’s fame and wealth in God diminished.
Nevertheless, as the number of million dollar church buildings increased, the number of poverty-stricken people increased. Because of an artificial and falsified understanding of the word of God, the American church organizations sought after political power, chased after money, and encouraged the world to follow them into this sin. As the world followed the advice of the false prophets of the institutionalized American church buildings and organizations, the members of these churches forfeited the power of God. The power of God was lost because the people allowed Lucifer to fool them into setting up an abomination in the temple of God that is found in the hearts of man.
The Old Testament loudly declares that God said, "Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool. What is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things are mine, says the LORD. But this is the man to whom I will look, he that is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word."
Paul cautions the Men of Athens that ‘the God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all men life and breath and everything.’ Paul proclaims to the Hebrews saying, ‘But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.’
Paul the Apostle in his clear affirmation of the moral demands of Torah and their applications to the children of God of this present era teaches that the Shekinah---the Holy Spirit---of the living God now makes His sanctuary in the body of all those who believe in Jesus and who subject themselves to his Lordship. Paul pleas, ‘I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.’ Moreover, ‘Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If any one destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and that temple you are.’
Paul continues, ‘Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I therefore take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who joins himself to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, "The two shall become one flesh." But he who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. Flee immorality. Every other sin which a man commits is outside the body; but the immoral man sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
In his Second Letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle again speaks of God’s people as a collective temple, ‘For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
