Summary: Sin cost more than we want to pay.
THE HIGH COST OF SINNING
Romans 6 :23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1. Hope is given in exchange for sin.
There is no second name found in the bible where men can be saved
Paul says there is no hope without the Lord.
Eph. 2 :12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world
2. Abiding and satisfying joys are given in exchange for pleasure.
Feeding on ashes is not very satisfying
Those who live in pleasure are walking dead
1st Tim. 5 :6But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
3. The best is found with Christ
Revenues of the wicked are trouble
Proverbs 15 :6In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
We must seek God first
And all his righteousness
Then all these things are worth while
Matt. 6 : 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Claim what’s yours
God wants to give it
No one should be without the gifts of God
4. Purpose in life should never be bartered at any price.
Man and woman can say with Paul our future is secure
Philippians 3:12Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Can you say this one thing I do?
5. The first sign is love for Jesus Christ. and follow Christians
If you are destitute of this love you are on the wrong road.
The road that leads to destruction.
John 4 :7There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
Self seeking is a evidence of sin
Sin in the heart.
1st John 3:16Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Come drink of the water of life freely
Come while there is time
Come now
