The Haven of Rest!

John 14:27 (KJV) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

I love the words to the old hymn “Haven of Rest”!

My soul in sad exile was out on life’s sea,

So burdened with sin and distressed,

Till I heard a sweet voice, saying, “Make Me your choice”;

And I entered the “Haven of Rest”!

I’ve anchored my soul in the “Haven of Rest,”

I’ll sail the wide seas no more;

The tempest may sweep over wild, stormy, deep,

In Jesus I’m safe evermore.

There are 4 anchors to help us live in God’s haven of rest.

1. Romans 8:31 (KJV) What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

2. Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

3. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

4. Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Remember we cannot lose for winning, we cannot go under for going over and we are not looking for the undertaker but for the upper-taker!

We are not losers but winners when we are anchored in God’s haven of rest. Drop your anchor in the sea of God’s love today and let His peace flood your soul.
