Summary: Jeremiah 8:20-The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Jeremiah 8:20-The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

The people had refused to believe Jeremiahâs message from God, so God had to send a foe from the north to judge them. As they were surrounded by these troops, the crops on the outside were ready to be harvested. But they were unable to harvest them, and as they were starving on the inside, the crops were rotting in the fields. The summer had ended, and the harvest has pasted. Time had ran out on them, for they had crossed Godâs deadline.

I want to share several harvest times that are passing away that you and I should be concerned about today.

I-THE HARVEST IS PASSING AWAY FOR OUR COUNTRY:

Psalms 9:17-The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

I believe if God has a word for America today, it is wake up, harvest time is passing away. Repent or else you will face my judgement. God always sends warning, mercy, and then his judgement. He did it in Noahâs day and he will do it in our day. America is like a runaway train, she is living one big high of excitement, but she had better be aware of the wreck ahead unless she repents.

II-THE HARVEST IS PASSING AWAY FOR OUR CHURCH:

John 4:35-Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Harvest time is passing away for the concern of our churches to do Godâs work. If we are going to win souls for Jesus, we had better do it now. Someone said, the message of the Church, is that, Jesus is coming. But another message is, souls are going, they are going to hell every day.

On one side stands our Savior, on the other side are the sinners, and in the middle, we stand as Godâs servants. Our job is to get them to Jesus.

III-THE HARVEST IS PASSING AWAY FOR OUR CONSECRATION:

1 Chronicles 29:5b-And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?

Billy Bray was talking to a man on his death bed about his relationship to Jesus. He said, Billy, if I had the power, I would shout Glory to God. Billy Bray replied back, Itâs a pity, you didn'tât shout when you had the power.

I like what Ornan said to David when he requested the use of his threshingfloor and asked to pay for it. Ornan said, no, I will give it all, the threshingfloor, the oxen, the instruments, and the wheat.

God wants our all, our body, our talents, our treasurers, our time, all that he have.

IV-THE HARVEST IS PASSING AWAY FOR OUR CHARITY:

James 5:3-Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

Some people intend to put their money in the Lordâs work but they keep putting it off. They had better read James 5:3

Billy Sunday use to say, do your giving while your living, then you will know where it is going.

V-THE HARVEST IS PASSING AWAY FOR OUR CHRISTIAN CONDUCT:

Matthew 5:13-Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Our job is to live for Jesus and make an impact on those around about us. We are to set a good example for our Lord.

We canât take our money with us when we die, and also we canât take our influence also. The influence that we leave behind will be one to influence people to hell or heaven.

VI-THE HARVEST IS PASSING AWAY FOR YOUR CONVERSION:

Hebrews 3:7-Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice,

Former heavyweight champion George Foreman gave his testimony at the Garden Grove Community Church in California. Here is part of what he said concerning his conversion to Christ in the San Juan dressing room after the Jimmy Young fight: "I felt my head and, when I brought my hands down, I saw there was blood on the palms of both hands," he said. "Then I looked down and saw there was blood on my feet. "I was reminded there was where Jesus bled -- on His palms, on His feet, and on His head. At that moment, I died. I died for God. Then I got life as a new creature. I became like a small trusting baby." "I had never read the Bible before, " he said. "Now I read it all the time. I understand it. I want to explain to other people so that they, like me, can know the truth." That is what happens to everyone who trusts the Lord Jesus Christ.
