The Gospel Of Jesus Christ

Summary: In order to understand (The Good News) the Gospel we must be honest enough to say there had to be some bad news!!!!
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Gentiles. Romans 1:16
This verse is the key passage of the book of Romans. The Apostle Paul owns up to that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is what brings us to God. The good news that brings salvation. For we all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. The wages of sin is death and the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever would believe in him would not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Salvation:
Salvation is the deliverance from all the power and effects of sin. When Christ comes we will be totally delivered from the effects and powers of sin. Until he returns we will be in warfare overcoming Satan and all of his schemes. We must keep the faith at the beginning until the end. Faith in God should be the way of life for the believer, not a one time experience.
Salvation begins in Gods Grace working in us through his son Jesus Christ. It is nothing we can earn it is the gift of God. We cant do good works and command God to let us in heaven. It is through Gods grace.
example: You can work all week and you can demand to be paid. You earned that paycheck.
If I tell you meet at the bank at 9am. You would come expecting to receive money you didn't work for with your hands being open.
That is the example of Gods grace we come knowing that it was nothing we have done to earn it but we reach out with our hearts to receive.
We receive the gift of salvation through faith. a positive response to Gods grace.
Faith is only real in the act of obedience. When Jesus called his disciples who were fishermen , asked them to cast their nets aside and follow him and he would make them fishermen of men. In order for them to become his disciples that had to obey. Only those who obey are the true disciples. We must not only believe but we must obey. We must act on what we believe and commit our lives to Jesus. What we profess alone is not enough we must respond to what we believe. Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments. John 14:15. It is the test of love for him that is important, so we should obey him.
In my conclusion we thank God for his grace that he has given to us through his son Jesus Christ. It is good news in the midst of a dark fallen world that there is hope if we come to Jesus.
