1. Pope has asserted this week RCC is only true Church

a. Pope is Successor of Peter who was Bishop of Rome

b. No record of Peter leading Church in Rome

c. Know that he did not found Church – not mentioned

d. Know that Paul was Apostle to Gentiles not Peter

e. Peter was married and his wife often traveled w/him

2. Church in Rome was probably founded by non Apostles

a. Pentecost Acts 2:10 mentions “strangers from Rome

b. Many people learned Gospel during 20 yrs ministry Paul

c. 16th chap Andronicus & Junias- mentioned as being saved before Paul was

3. Know that it was a strong Church

a. Paul dealt w/doctrines that produce maturity

i. not immaturity that produced problems like Corinth

b. 1:8 - their “faith was spoken of thru out the world”
