Psalms 3

V1 David's enemies

Old testament people had enemies, but we don't have (Ephe 6:11)

V2 People asking why your God is not helping you.

Now we are also faced by the same question

V3 David's answer

God is my shield,my glory, lifter up of my head

My shield

God has put his protection around Job and his belongings

Job1:10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

This is because he was just before God

Job1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

God was the shield of Abraham

Gen 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

This is because,He didn't accept which was not from God (Gen 14:22-24)

he gave him tithes of all.(Gen 14:20)

Deuteronomy33: 29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

The same God will be a shield for you,. But. You should be a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Do not accept what is not Godly

Give our tithe

God is my Glory

God is my ,lifter up of my head

God lifted up Jacob

Gen 45:4-8

Brothers betrayed Jacob . He didn't revenge them. He says it is God's plan.

God lifted him from pit, from salvery , from prison, and made him the minister.

God lifted David who is smallest among the brothers. God lifted him from all difficulties in his life.

Luke 13:11-13 the woman could not lift herself for 18 years

12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

The same God who lift Jacob , David and the lady, will lift you from all the difficulties in your life.He won't allow you to bow down your head.

Psalms 34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed

V4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill

The God who hear the cries of his people

Matthew 9:27-29 two blind men following Jesus

Jesus heard their cry. Healed them.

Jesus asked them if they believe that it is possible for him to give them vision.

Today Jesus is asking you , do you believe that Jesus is able to solve your problems.

Surely he will answer your cry.

Psalms 18:6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

Psalms 34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles

V5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

The God who susutains us

Isaiah 46:4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

V6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Psalms 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

Psalms 91:1-7

Psalms 118:6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Rom8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
