INTRODUCTION:
Many believers serve God with dedication and love but sometimes feel unnoticed or forgotten. There are moments when it seems like their prayers, service, and sacrifices have gone unrewarded. Yet, the Word of God assures us that He is not unrighteous to forget. God keeps accurate records, and He never overlooks the faithful labours of His children.
Divine remembrance is not a mere recollection; it is a divine action that brings manifestation. When God remembers a man or woman, He moves from silence to intervention. He turns waiting into reward, tears into testimonies, and faithfulness into fruitfulness.
Every act of kindness, prayer, giving, and ministry done in love is registered in Heaven’s account. When the time is right, God rewards openly those who serve Him secretly. Your season of remembrance is coming — and when God remembers, He restores, He rewards, and He elevates.
1. GOD IS A FAITHFUL REWARDER OF THOSE WHO SERVE HIM
God sees every act of service and ensures that none of His children labour in vain.
a) God Keeps Records of Every Labour — Malachi 3:16
Heaven keeps a “book of remembrance” for those who fear the Lord and honour His name.
b) God Rewards Faithful Stewards — Matthew 25:21
Every faithful servant receives divine commendation and promotion.
c) God’s Rewards Are Certain — Galatians 6:9
No seed of service is wasted; in due season, it will bring a harvest of joy.
d) God’s Reward Surpasses Human Recognition — Colossians 3:23-24
Even when men forget, God Himself will reward you for your service.
Biblical Example: Cornelius served God with devotion and generosity. Though a Gentile, his prayers and alms came up as a memorial before God, leading to his salvation and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:1-4, 44-46).
2. GOD REMEMBERS THOSE WHO LABOUR IN LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS
When your service is motivated by love for God and people, it becomes unforgettable before Heaven.
a) Love Motivates True Service — 1 Corinthians 13:3
God values service that flows from genuine love rather than selfish ambition.
b) Service in Love Attracts Heaven’s Favour — Ephesians 6:7-8
Whatever you do in love for the Lord, He will repay you accordingly.
c) Love Covers the Pain of Service — 1 Corinthians 15:58
Even when serving God feels tiring, love keeps you steadfast and unmovable.
d) Love Turns Service into Worship — Romans 12:1
Every act of love done for God becomes an acceptable offering in His sight.
Biblical Example: Mary of Bethany poured her costly ointment on Jesus’ feet out of love. Jesus declared that her act would be remembered wherever the gospel is preached (Matthew 26:6-13).
3. GOD REMEMBERS AT THE RIGHT TIME TO REWARD HIS OWN
God’s timing for remembrance is perfect. He never forgets; He only waits for the appointed time.
a) Divine Remembrance Ends Delay — Genesis 8:1
When God remembered Noah, the flood began to subside, and a new season of peace began.
b) Divine Remembrance Breaks Barrenness — Genesis 30:22
God remembered Rachel and opened her womb, turning her tears into laughter.
c) Divine Remembrance Brings Deliverance — Exodus 2:24-25
God heard the groaning of Israel and remembered His covenant, leading to their deliverance.
d) Divine Remembrance Restores Honour — Esther 6:1-3
God caused the king to remember Mordecai’s good deeds at the exact time his enemies plotted his downfall.
Biblical Example: Joseph served faithfully in Potiphar’s house and in prison. When God remembered him, He elevated him from the dungeon to the palace in one day (Genesis 41:39-44).
4. GOD’S REMEMBRANCE BRINGS REWARD AND RECOGNITION
When God remembers, He vindicates, promotes, and restores everything that was lost.
a) He Restores Lost Opportunities — Joel 2:25
Years of hardship are replaced with seasons of fruitfulness and restoration.
b) He Rewards Openly What Was Done Secretly — Matthew 6:4
Quiet obedience and unseen sacrifices receive public honour from God.
c) He Elevates the Humble — 1 Peter 5:6
Those who serve in humility will be exalted in due season.
d) He Turns Labour into Legacy — Psalm 112:6
The memory of the righteous shall be blessed, and their impact will endure for generations.
Biblical Example: The Shunammite woman’s kindness to Elisha was remembered long after. Her dead son was restored to life, and years later, her property was divinely restored (2 Kings 4:8-37; 8:1-6).
CONCLUSION:
Serving God is never a waste. Every prayer, every act of giving, every word of encouragement, every moment spent in His house, all are precious before the Lord. Even when men forget, God remembers. His reward may seem delayed, but it is never denied.
