INTRODUCTION

Life often brings seasons when it feels as though forces are working behind the scenes to oppose God’s purposes in our lives. The enemy devises subtle schemes and open attacks to derail destinies, sow fear, and frustrate the plans of the Almighty. But Scripture assures us that no agenda of hell can prevail against the will of God for His children.

The Bible is filled with examples of God stepping in at critical moments to destroy the plans of the enemy. From Pharaoh’s failed pursuit of Israel at the Red Sea to Haman’s downfall in Persia, the Lord has consistently shown Himself as the defender of His people. The devil may strategize, but his schemes are no match for the wisdom, power, and sovereignty of our God.

This sermon reminds us that God not only shields us from the enemy’s attacks but also frustrates their plans completely. When we trust Him, we can face every battle with confidence, knowing the Lord fights for us and ensures that His purpose will stand.

1. GOD FRUSTRATES THE PLANS OF THE ENEMY

God actively destroys the wicked schemes set against His children.

a) The Counsel of the Wicked Shall Not Stand (Psalm 33:10-11)

God brings the counsel of the nations to nothing and frustrates their devices. His purposes endure forever, no matter what opposition arises.

b) He Overthrows the Devices of the Crafty (Job 5:12)

The Lord interrupts the plots of the wicked, ensuring their hands cannot carry out their evil enterprise.

c) God Sees Every Hidden Plot (Psalm 139:11-12)

Even the schemes laid in secret are visible to God. Nothing is concealed from His eyes, and He moves on behalf of His children.

d) The Weapons of the Enemy Cannot Prosper (Isaiah 54:17)

Weapons may be formed, but they will not prosper. The Lord guarantees the protection and vindication of His people.

Biblical Example: The story of Haman in Esther 7 shows how God turned the enemy’s plot back on his own head. Haman built a gallows to destroy Mordecai but was ultimately hanged on the very gallows he prepared.

2. GOD DELIVERS HIS PEOPLE FROM THE SNARES OF THE ENEMY

The Lord not only destroys the enemy’s plans but also rescues His people from danger.

a) He Breaks the Snare (Psalm 124:7)

The traps set by the enemy are broken, and we escape like a bird from the fowler’s snare.

b) God Is Our Refuge and Strength (Psalm 46:1)

In times of trouble, the Lord provides safety and power to overcome.

c) He Protects Us From Every Evil Plot (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

God is faithful to guard and establish His children, protecting them from the evil one.

d) Deliverance Is Assured for God’s People (Exodus 14:13-14)

God told Israel to stand still and see His salvation, promising to fight for them and destroy the Egyptians’ plans.

Biblical Example: Daniel in the lions’ den (Daniel 6) was preserved from destruction. The plot to destroy him failed because God shut the mouths of the lions.

3. GOD TURNS THE ENEMY’S PLANS INTO A TESTIMONY

The same schemes designed for harm often become platforms for God’s glory and our promotion.

a) What the Enemy Meant for Evil, God Uses for Good (Genesis 50:20)

God can transform even the darkest plots into stepping stones for destiny.

b) Trials Become Testimonies of God’s Power (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)

Even when pressed on every side, we are not crushed because God is working in us.

c) Opposition Leads to Promotion (Psalm 23:5)

God prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies, turning opposition into elevation.

d) The Enemy’s Defeat Glorifies God (Romans 8:28)

Every circumstance, even opposition, works together for the good of those who love God.

Biblical Example: Joseph’s brothers plotted his death, but God turned their evil plan into a divine setup for Joseph to save nations and preserve his family (Genesis 45:7-8).

4. GOD EQUIPS HIS PEOPLE FOR VICTORY OVER THE ENEMY

God does not leave His children helpless but gives them the tools and authority to overcome.

a) Spiritual Weapons Are Mighty Through God (2 Corinthians 10:4)

Our weapons are not carnal but powerful for pulling down strongholds and destroying the enemy’s strategies.

b) The Authority of Christ Empowers Believers (Luke 10:19)

We have authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm us.
