INTRODUCTION:

In life’s journey, there are visible and invisible traps designed to hinder progress, destroy destiny, and bring shame to the people of God. These snares are often the works of the enemy, orchestrated through circumstances, people, or spiritual forces. The enemy lays these traps with great cunning, hoping that the believer will be caught unawares. But thanks be to God, our Deliverer, who rescues us from every snare.

A snare is a hidden device designed to entangle or capture its target. Spiritually, it represents satanic plots, deceit, and entanglements that aim to keep believers bound. The good news is that no matter how skillfully the enemy sets his traps, God has the power to break every snare and set His children free. His deliverance is complete and timely, ensuring that we are not only freed but also preserved from further attacks.

Today, we will explore the ways God delivers His people from the snare of the enemy and how we can walk in that victory daily. Understanding His methods of deliverance will strengthen our faith and empower us to live in freedom, unafraid of the schemes of the wicked.

1. GOD SEES EVERY SNARE BEFORE IT IS SET

God’s omniscience means that nothing is hidden from His sight. The traps of the enemy are visible to Him long before they are placed.

a) God knows the thoughts and plans of the wicked – Psalm 94:11

The Lord is fully aware of every evil scheme plotted against His children.

b) God exposes hidden dangers to His people – 2 Kings 6:9-10

Through His Spirit, He reveals what the enemy intends, giving us the advantage.

c) God warns His children in advance – Acts 11:27-28

He uses dreams, prophetic words, and inner convictions to alert His people.

d) God shields us from traps we cannot see – Psalm 121:7-8

Even when we are unaware, His protection covers us.

Biblical Example: God revealed the enemy’s battle plans to Elisha, saving Israel repeatedly (2 Kings 6:8-12).

2. GOD BREAKS THE SNARE COMPLETELY

When God delivers, He does not leave any part of the trap intact — He destroys it entirely.

a) The snare is broken, not just loosened – Psalm 124:7

God ensures that the trap loses its ability to harm us again.

b) God’s deliverance is total and irreversible – Nahum 1:9

Once He sets you free, the enemy’s plot is rendered useless.

c) God’s power nullifies every legal ground of the enemy – Colossians 2:14-15

Every accusation and written code against us is cancelled by the blood of Jesus.

d) God makes your deliverance a testimony – Psalm 40:2-3

He sets you free in such a way that His name is glorified.

Biblical Example: Peter’s chains fell off and the prison doors opened on their own when God delivered him (Acts 12:6-11).

3. GOD USES UNEXPECTED MEANS TO DELIVER

God is never limited in His methods; He can use unusual strategies to set His people free.

a) God sends His angels to rescue His people – Psalm 91:11

Heavenly intervention is a key instrument of deliverance.

b) God uses nature to fight for His people – Exodus 14:21-27

The wind, the sea, and even animals can obey His command.

c) God turns the plans of the enemy against them – Esther 7:9-10

The very snare they set becomes their own downfall.

d) God uses praise and worship to open prison doors – Acts 16:25-26

Spiritual weapons often break physical and spiritual chains.

Biblical Example: Daniel was preserved in the lions’ den when God shut the mouths of the lions (Daniel 6:22).

4. GOD TEACHES US HOW TO AVOID FUTURE SNARES

Deliverance is not just about escape but also about empowerment to walk in wisdom and vigilance.

a) God gives us discernment to detect danger – Hebrews 5:14

Spiritual maturity helps us identify traps early.

b) God teaches us to trust Him fully – Proverbs 3:5-6

Dependence on God keeps us from falling into deception.

c) God calls us to holiness and obedience – 1 Peter 1:15-16

Righteous living keeps us out of the enemy’s reach.

d) God strengthens us to stand firm – Ephesians 6:10-11

With the whole armour of God, we are protected from all schemes.

Biblical Example: Joseph avoided the snare of adultery with Potiphar’s wife by fleeing and keeping his integrity (Genesis 39:7-12).

CONCLUSION:

God is the ultimate Deliverer who sees every trap, breaks every chain, and preserves His people from the snares of the enemy. His deliverance is total, irreversible, and often comes in ways we could never have imagined. He not only rescues us but also equips us to live in continued freedom.
