INTRODUCTION:

One of the many manifestations of God's power is His ability to command creation to respond in favour of His people. When God speaks, the earth hears, obeys, and yields its increase. God is not just the Creator of the earth but also the Sustainer, Controller, and Commander of all things. The earth is not autonomous in its productivity—it responds to divine instruction.

Throughout Scripture, we see moments when the land yields miraculously, even in seasons of drought or famine, simply because God issued a command. This teaches us that productivity and increase are not only determined by labour or natural conditions but by divine command. It is God's spoken word that turns barren fields into fruitful gardens and dry places into watered lands.

This truth is practically important to believers today. In times of scarcity, economic hardship, or spiritual dryness, we must remember that God has the authority to command our environment to respond with fruitfulness. When God blesses a man, the land cannot withhold its increase. No matter how dry your land may seem now, when God commands it, it will yield.

1. GOD SPEAKS TO THE EARTH ON BEHALF OF HIS PEOPLE

God does not remain silent in the affairs of His people. He gives commands to creation to support their destiny.

a) God's Voice Commands Creation

God’s voice carries power and authority over all elements, including the earth. (Psalm 29:3-9)

b) The Earth is Not Independent of God

The earth cannot yield increase by itself; it must respond to God’s command. (Genesis 1:11)

c) Divine Instructions Trigger Fruitfulness

When God gives instructions, creation aligns to fulfil them. (Ezekiel 34:26-27)

d) God Uses the Earth as a Tool of Blessing

The land is an instrument in God’s hand to bless His people. (Deuteronomy 28:1-4)

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE:

In Genesis 26:1-14, during a time of famine, Isaac sowed in the land and received a hundredfold the same year because God had commanded the land to yield for him. The natural circumstances did not favour increase, but divine command reversed it.

2. GOD BREAKS THE CURSE OF BARRENNESS

God can overturn every condition of dryness and restore productivity.

a) The Earth Can be Cursed but God Can Reverse It

After the fall, the ground was cursed, but through God's intervention, it can be blessed again. (Genesis 3:17, Malachi 3:11)

b) God Restores Wasted Years and Barren Seasons

The promise of restoration shows God's power over time and seasons. (Joel 2:21-25)

c) Obedience to God Reverses Barrenness

When we walk in God’s ways, the earth responds in our favour. (Leviticus 26:3-5)

d) The Blessing of God Overrides Natural Resistance

God's blessing can reverse environmental or ancestral patterns of hardship. (Proverbs 10:22)

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE:

In 2 Kings 2:19-22, the land of Jericho was barren and unproductive, but when Elisha spoke the word of the Lord and poured salt into the water, the land was healed and became fruitful again.

3. GOD MULTIPLIES THE YIELD OF THE LAND

When God commands, what looks small becomes abundant.

a) God Makes the Earth Supernaturally Productive

The increase that comes by God's command is far above natural expectation. (Leviticus 26:10)

b) Rain and Harvest Are Released by God

God times the rain and the harvest to meet the needs of His people. (Joel 2:23-24)

c) God Blesses the Work of Our Hands

Labour without divine blessing may yield little, but with God’s command, it prospers. (Psalm 128:2)

d) God Supplies Even in the Wilderness

He can command increase from the most unlikely places. (Isaiah 35:1-2)

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE:

In John 6:1-13, Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed over five thousand people. Though it was not the earth yielding in this case, the principle of divine multiplication at God’s command was clearly displayed.

CONCLUSION:

God is still in the business of commanding the earth to yield its increase for His people. In a world that is becoming increasingly unstable and barren in various ways, God’s voice still carries weight. Your land, your business, your family, and your ministry can still produce abundant results—not by human efforts alone but by divine instruction and intervention.

Therefore, as believers, we must position ourselves to hear and obey the voice of God. When God speaks, everything responds. The earth will not deny the command of the One who created it. No matter the dryness you see, God can and will cause the earth to yield its increase for you.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, speak to my land and command it to yield increase in Jesus’ name.

2. O Lord, reverse every curse of barrenness upon the work of my hands.
